hopefully itll be out in a subsequent patch...maybe they just havent balanced it yet. Which could be a sign that its gonna be special...

They've already got the more well known rifles in-game. What else could they put in that would be a good unlock? The .50 shoots through glass (Though I personnally have had few opportunities to use that), the M24 is powerful and accurate, the Type 88 has beautifully thin crosshairs making long distance sniping much easier. SVD.. well.. yeah.. SVD.

There are a few others that have been in different games, but what would be the point? They aren't better, as they are smaller caliber or older model. I wouldn't want a scoped M14 as an unlock... Maybe a non-weapon unlock for vanilla BF2. Grappling Hook unlock? Thermal Sight? Thinner Crosshair for M95!!

Silenced rifle could be nice (and would be all Special Forces-ish)...

Lower damage but no BOOM or flash to give your position away...

And AT could have gotted the RPG as an unlock and we would have been done, mind you the bitching from the "never buy expansions" crowd would have been even worse...

I am disappointed as well. If they do add a new rifle, I think the SR-25 Mark 11 MOD 0 would be the perfect choice for a new sniper weapon. It is the official sniper support weapon of the Navy SEALS. It should have similar power to the SVD, a little more accurate and have a silencer.

I want a sniper rifle with a longer range but maybe reduced clip size or increased loading time. Or maye a HUGE sniper rifle that you can only use lying down and holds only one bullet at a time but can fire throught walls.

besides they could have given use something else...different side arm...urm...an umbrella...anything.

No, Tenshi, you misunderstood my post. Dice covered the major sniper rifles, the well known ones. And you seem to be fishing for an arguement by saying I don't care. I demonstrated that I do by presenting alternate unlock options other than a weapon.

The SR-25 is a good suggestion for a weapon unlock, or a silenced option: VSS Vintorez. We could google all day for options on sniper weapon unlocks, but the major CALIBER weapons are covered: .50, 7.62, 5-ish mm...

US Navy SEAL's use thermal optics on their .50's so they can do just that.

go psg-1!!!! psg-1 should be used for SAS, coz most SAS weapons are made by h&k, but i dont think in real life h&k weapons are reliable... click on the link http://www.strategypage.com/humor/ar...s_20058300.asp
