    Plane-whore in the making

    gday all

I've finally decided that now i went and bought myself a dodgy new joystick, i ought to learn to fly jets. transport choppers i've been able to fly no worries for a while now with the keyboard, but never jets.

I took some time out from multiplayer after creating a new account (dont wanna mess my sniping account!) and went the island map, clean sweep for a while on SP. slowly but surely managed to learn to fly decently enough to score maybe 25 kills and only a couple of deaths per round. I did this because i've seen the terrible waste of tickets when a tosser TKs 5 blokes to get in the f22 only to flip over and into the water.... i dont wanna be like that!

Now the only issue is learning how to cope with that sort of idiocy as i too join the wild race to grab a jet during a match!

(btw, dont stress, i never intend to be a jet-whore, just to try and enjoy this facet of the game as well from time to time)

I have no idea, personally I just stay well out of it unless the map is underpopulated and no one is using the jets. Then I rescue the flight joystick from it's dusty corner and whizz around for a while scaring helicopters and narrowly missing the enemy with my bombs...

But I can't be dealing with the kind of BS that often goes on around the aircraft, I would be banned for a lot of servers if I tried...

The best advice if you want to be a jet whore is to get a good computer. This way you can be in the air before most people load the map therefore avoiding those nasty races to the hangar.

        Guilty as charged!
I like those few seconds of quiet time in a jet before the mayhem commence.

yeh when bf2 first came out there were nice curteous ppl who say u in a jet and actually moved out of the way!! or died in a jet, saw u waiting in the hangar and insisted you have a try. i took 3weeks break from bf2 last month i have returned and it seems every server is populated with complete tking/basecamping/pointfarming n00bs!!! (no offence if ur new to bf2 and are actuallly nice lol)

Use the machine gun, i am a goodplane pilot (look at my stats) and the bombs are pretty pointless IMHO the time you should use them is if you no there will be tonnes of people scattered across a base and then you should still spray with machine gun, and the other time is if there is a tank, Apc's you can normally take out with the gun or at least damage then enough so the guy gets out.
Also if you get obsessed by the bombs you waste alot of time flying back and forward reloading.
