for the new unlocks, do i have to unlock ALL the old unlockables before i can unlock the new unlockables? I unlocked all the base weapons for assault and spec ops, but i dont see the selection for the new unlockables?
No you don't have to unlock all the BF2 ones first. That would mean that you couldn't begin to unlock SF weapons until you had something like 200,000 points :)

You get a number of unlocks depending on your rank as soon as you have played for a little while on a SF server M8 . I played a round and when I left and came back to the game , I had 4 unlocks to choose from .
uhh i dont have sf, i just found out there was a patch yesterday, downloaded it and played for awihle, and i got my next rank (staff sergeant). I have the medic unlocked already l85,engineer, and anti tank unlocked, but then when they asked me which weapon to choose from, i only saw the old unlocks
