Cant install BF2!!!

I had to uninstall BF2 because of the patch issues and now I am trying to reinstall.

The problem is now when I try to install the game it only loads to the point after where it shows the large Battlefield 2 picture then just stops. It doesnt give me a error or anything it just exits from the install. I thought it might be the DVD but I was able to copy all the contents to a folder and when I tried to launch the seyup it did the same thing.

Anyone have any ideas?

delete every thin my documents and ea folder install restart patch 1.03 then restart it happened to mehad to do fresh install xp then it worked i had a virus

Ok I was able to start a proper install. Thanks for the help.

Now I have a worse problem, I cannot find my manual. Is there a way to retrieve my cd key from the registry.

I looked up posts on how to do it but my registry entries are in DICE not EA games.

Nope. If you uninstalled than the key is gone I'm afraid.

The only way is to contact EA for a new key.

I did use a system restore to bring back some of my game files and the registry entries for bf2.
