As you read in the title EA and Dice are in the stages of planning there next big release. = big Thread!
All the information below is reportedly 100% true and I received it through a close friend who has a relative that works for EA as a project developer I believe.
According to my friend EA conducted a meeting on 11-17-2005 about what the next expansion pack will intrudes to the BF2 series. From what I understood they were many ideals of what should be added and the purpose of the meeting was to narrow it down to one option. They chose a option named conflict 2017(obviously a code name). This is spouse to feature the normal vanilla BF2 along with many features transferred over from Special Forces. The major update this new expansion will include will be the extension of Planes/ Bombers and the all new addition of navel ships. This addition reportedly will have 3 different countries at war USA, British and the Japanese/Chinese. Each side is spouse to feature Combat from land Sea and air. I guess Each side or army will have three different sub categories Army, navy and Air force. Players will select the branch of the Military they want to join and from there select classes (from what I got the army class will have you’re standard BF2 classes and Air force will have Pilots , Gunners and other things that fit the category, and I'am sure the Navy will have Navy related classes like Marines, captin and so on.(I was told Air Force will carry mostly SMG Type Weapons, Army Will cary Standered Bf2 Weapons and Navy will cary more small arms) Also I was told about more accessories being added such as shoulder mounted stingers and poison gas along with grenade launchers and other accessories. As for the Navy side I was told Will feature drivable modern ships such as Cruisers, Destroyers, Submarines and aircraft carriers that will be capable of launching girded missiles and anti ship missiles controlled by players. I was told that they will also be more aircraft added in the area of jets and bombers. According to my friend they will not be adding more attack helicopters and there will not be many more land vehicles added. He also said that the Development team is considering implementing a destroyable environment to the BF2 engine. He said EA will officially announce this information next month. Last but not least He noted that this expansion will not be released as soon Special Forces and will evolve many more development teams and they will need more time to finish the project.
That was all I gathered from talking to my friend and it looks like EA will go all out on this one(I Dough it) I guess they had a lot of complaints about why are there no ships when there was in original BF1942 and I’ Am sure more aircraft is what the community was asking for. Sounds fun to me. I guess weather this information is rumor or not we all know EA is planning another Expansion pack so I guess its something to think about. so much for a first post lol I be a member for like 8 months but never posted because iv felt iv hade nothing impoartant to say, oh well..LONG POST!! Look out! the Japanese have there Mechs! hehe since there so dang advanced they can take out anything, and they have alot of robot building exp. from all the Manga/Anime's:p
