    can some1 confirm this?

i dont have SF yet but i read the gamespot review.. and noticed this:

    quote:-------------------------------------------------------

The Good: Eight cool new levels and six new factions to play with; more focus on infantry and urban combat, less on vehicles; night vision, grappling hooks, zip lines, and other cool new toys; more of the great gameplay that made battlefield 2 one of the best action games of the year.

The Bad: Huge, showstopping bugs can prevent you from even playing the game; performance drops if there's too much action on the screen; resource hog and longer loading times than battlefield 2; ea's new digital distribution service has issues.

    ---------------------------------------------------end quote

can some1 confirm the performance drop?
also, what do u guys suggset ? is it worth getting it?

they gave it an 8.1 btw

Hi , yes they were right, I noticed before even reading this that the load times for maps are now atleast double in time. I have 1.5 gig ram and im still getting significantly longer load times than in regular bf2. Also im playing with all ultra high and I noticed a loss of fps over bf2 vanilla. Its still smooth for me but the map iron gator where im inside the carrier is laggy while inside. Over all its lots of fun though so i really hope they fix the long load times and performance hit everyone seems to be getting.
its still in my opinion worth the 30$. I read somewhere that the exp pack was actually going to run better performance wise but Thats wholely! innacurate.

Dindt find any major bugs yet just some strange clipping when using a elevator
loading does seem to take a little longer (maybe its just me)
I cant realy comment on the fps drops i dindt experience it myself but sure.. a 16 player game whill run smoother than a 64 player game if thats what u mean same on bf2 vanilla
I say get it.. the level designs are realy good, plus the new gameplay features kick ass.

I can confirm the performance drop. It's not that bad on my machine tho. Longer load times, oh yeah.

Huge showstopping bugs, I don't know about that one.

        My specs:
        AMD Athlon64 3000+ @2GHZ
        1.5 GB DDR PC3200 RAM
        Asus K8N Deluxe
        ATI Radeon X800 256MB
        Soundblaster Audigy 2
        1 - 180 GB HDD(running Windows)
        1 - 200 GB HDD(running BF2, BF2:SF, NFSU2, Trainz, AA:SF, NASCAR Racing 2003)

I don't notice any more of a performance decrease then would happen during a lot of action in lets say Karkand. It really depends on how much is going on and the server.

                It is worth it.

after reinstalling and installing both packs twice, I played 1 full
match before returning it to the store for a refund..

                  Same old lengthy load times..

I played a Dragon Valley game then selected a new SF map, and
it took like 5 minutes to switch from BF2 to Special Forces (with
a short stint to the desktop and back in..what a joke..) then if
you selected a stock BF2 map it would do that same thing again..
lmfao.. thats just funny as hell.

Other games I have played have the expansion pack actually
integrated withing the original game.. i.e. Unreal Tournament series..
No going to desktop switching back and forth between games..

This has got to be the worst written code of 2005.. or even the past
                  couple years...

Gamespot is usually right on with their reviews, I havent ever
noticed them holding back anything, or stretching the truth to make
a title look good or bad.. so you know what they are saying is right
                  on the money.

Sad.. Battlefield 2 could have been king of online games.. but instead
the servers are dwindling.. players are leaving, noob kiddies are taking
                  over.. its a shame.

                      go play with yourself speedy

anyway I actually haven't noticed any performance drops the load times were a little longer at first but after playing all the maps a few times the load times seem to be really short now

the expansion is great and I'm really loving the new weapons and vehicles with the exception of a very few gripes

                        Re: can some1 confirm this?

I've noticed a big performance drop, so much that i've had to lower my graphics settings from Medium to Low. Aside from that i now have (after installing this expansion) random crashes to my desktop, freezes, and much longer loading times. F U EA

No show stoppers here. Map loading might take a little longer but not that huge a difference for me. No technical bugs that I've seen. Havn't seen any real slowdown ingame yet.

                          Specs:
                          AMD Athlon XP 3200+
                          2gigs of ram
                          ATI AIW 800XT 256megs
