ever since i got the 1.12 patch installed i havent been able to get into bf2. anyone know whats wrong? all i get is the opening picture and the screen flickering than i go back to windows.

There seems to be a difference in patches. I downloaded both of them.
bf2_patch_112.exe - GamersHell
bf2_v1_12update.exe - EA
After many re-installations (Uninstalled BF2 and configs and profiles, then re-installed.)
The one from EA got me back up and running. I started to monitor the patch log after a few tries.

If I had any "Old Files Invalid", then it would either try to start up but go back to the desktop immediately, or it would get all the way to the login screen and I would start a single player match and right when Geometries wee loading for the map, it would crash back to the desktop. No error or anything.
This was from several "clean" installations. Then I loaded the patch from Gamershell with no luck.
