What the hell does that mean? Just installed CD of SF then patched with 1.12. Now my screen actually goes black for about 15-20 seconds while its caching I suppose, then when I attempt to log in I get that "error to connect to socket"........anyone experience this wonderful problem

I dont remember seeing that one before. For all problems that are PC related I usually google them. I would say 99% of the time you will find a solution that way....Red -

Well, I can't give you a fix, but I can explain it, at least I think. I mess around with the Windows Sockets API which is what Microsoft has made for all kinds of network connections. Basically a socket is what you connect to when you're connecting to another computer. Its what allows servers and computers to talk to each other.
The only thing I would recommend would be uninstalling and reinstalling, though I bet you've tried that. Though, maybe you network card needs its drivers updated...though since its sounds like you didnt have that problem before I would imagine that wouldn't help anything.Comment
