Can someone explain to me this unlocks like I'm a 5 year old? LOL

Ok I have unlocked on BF2 the G3, PKM, G36C, L85A1, DAO-12 ok. So I played the expansion and I can use, without unlocking anything, the F2000 for assault, MG36 for Support, Scar-L for Spec Ops on some factions. Then all of the sudden I have 3 unlocks to choose from (17000 Global Score). Then it appears the F2000, M95, Scar-L etc etc. I really don't understand, if I play with the F2000 already why I need to unlock it? Can someone explain to me in full detail how this works, what faction use what, what unlock you can use? and so on....excuse my english, it's not my first language. Thanks for the help

You are unlocking Special Forces weapons for use on regular Battlefield 2 maps.

e.g. use the special forces assault weapon and flash bangs on Strike at Karkand.

Once again, the reason you had to unlock them was to use in regular BF:2

I got 4 unlocks. But also be aware I was able to unlock the G3 in Plain BF2 and also use it in BF2 SF. The only weapon I had not unlock. And you must unlock BF2 weapons before you can access the unlock for BF2 SF. I was trying to get to the F2000 unlock so I could use that in BF2. Also be aware that the flash bang is an unlock just like the weapons for use in BF2 but I think must be unlocked after the G3 then F2000 then Flash bang.

EDIT: Flash Bang comes with the F2000. Strangely it still shows as a seperate unlock. Locked for me but I have it in normal BF2 with F2000. Smoke grenade with the G3

Once you unlock a weapon in Special Forces (ie. Scar-L, FN2000, G36E, etc.) can you use this while playing as Insurgents, Rebels, Spetsznaz, etc. in Special Forces maps? I'd assume yes but no one has been that clear on it yet.

From what I've seen, what holds true \in Vanilla BF2 is that you can choose between your regular stock kit, your BF2 unlock & your SF unlock [minus grappling hooks, ziplines & tear gas] no matter what side you are playing on.

When you unlock a SF weapon it's is only for BF2. You don't unlock it for use as the Insurgents.

Correct. In BF2SF you get your BF2 unlocks or whatever weapons from the class you are playing. You do-not get for instence British SAS SCAR for use when playing one of the insurgent groups.

You have only their weapons or your previously unlocked BF2 weapons. However BF2SF gives you (depending on your score) some unlocks, for me it was 4. Becasue you have to unlock the BF2 weapons before you can unlock BF2SF, I had to unlock the G3, the only one I had not unlocked. I can use that in all SF maps and teams.

BTW there are no new unlocks for the Sniper class or Antitank class.

But in a way their are two for the assualt. F2000 and the Flash Bang. They are seperate unlocks for BF2.

My ranked account has a hair over 10,000 points on it, and I have 1 unlock unused because I wasn't sure if I wanted the G3, Jackhammer, or L85. So, now I can use that 1 unlock on a new SF weapon for us in normal BF2 (which really means I now have a choice of G3, Jackhammer, L85, new specops, or new support)? And if I wanted the F2000, I'd have to do the G3 now, then get another 10,000 points for my next unlock?

Why'd EA have to go and make this so difficult for my simple mind to understand??

No you unlock the G3 and then the F2000, im pretty sure that I didn't unlock the FB and it came with the F2000 unlock...

You want the F2000 it is the best gun ever in bf2. So yes unlock the g3 and then the f2000 later on...

If it wasn't that hard to figure out, nobody would be asking questions...I'm thoroughly confused myself, I don't have the F2000 even listed as a possible unlock. All I see is G3 (unlocked) and FlashBang (locked) for Assault class.

I did the unlocks last night and I can explain [from my situation] how they work.

I have just over 26000 points ... in Regular BF2 [Vanilla or VBF2] that means 6 unlocks [for me it was M95, G36c, L85A1, DAO-12, PKM, G3] -- total of 6 unlocks.

However, out of those 6 kits only 4 of them have SF upgrades [PKM, G3, L85A1 & G36c]. Basically after connecting to a ranked SF server and playing a few rounds, I disconnected, logged out and logged back in. As soon as I logged in I was presented with 4 possible unlocks and 5 choices [Scar-L, G36E, <the support gun>, F2000 and the JackHammer].

Seeing as how I didn't have the JackHammer yet, I decided to use one unlock for that (3 remaining) and a new choice popped up -- the new engineer weapon. Anyhow I finished up by taking the Scar-L, the F2000 & the G36e. Now when I went back to Vanilla BF2 and wanted to use my F2000, both the F2000 kit and the G3 kit had flashbangs available to it.

So, for those wondering, flashbangs are NOT a separate unlock from the F2000.
