    The choppers: Yay or Nay

I was previously a chopper hog in vanilla. The Hind and apache are so different. It's like ice skating in the air. Also the pilots missiles actually do damage now, except the splash damage is huge. The hind's missile pods are 3 miles apart, and the gunner needs the nose to be WAY up to shoot anything with the TV guided. Also some genius made the phalenx reach the helipad on the iron gator.

What do you think about them?

Sounds like sheets got messed up. [AA at Iron Gator]
I also don't care for the Hind too much, missiles too far apart
and doesn't 'skate' well like you said. I'm sure I'll get used to
    it someday though.

Ahhh the Apache flies great! It does kinda feel like your ... hmmm... floating for lack of a better word. The missles feel great when they come out. Also, yes I did notice more splash damage and rightly so.

On the receiving end of the apache, it was like running from a death machine. My team was literally hiding in buildings from the gunner that was taking us down like flies... it was great! Felt more like a war brotha!

I think it's great they have a different feel. A lot of guys were complaining that the vanilla BF2 choppers were too similar and wanted more of the different feels you got when you played the choppers in DC.

I've gone 29 straight kills in the apache, and I JUST went 36-0 with the hind. I was the pilot of the hind with no gunner, the gunner barely gets any kills if he sucks, they think you can just spray it everywhere. The AA on the carrier is just too strong though, I only win like 1 out of every 3 battles with it.

if it was real phalanx vs a silly ole attack chopper it wouldn't win any fights

that;s the way it shouls be stay away from the carrier is the lesson here

An attack chopper against an aircraft carrier's AA defense system... you should be lucky to win even 1 out of 3 battles. AA is too weak in vanilla BF.

Well since the AA doesn't have radar -- UGH, the attack chopper has a huge advantage. You can approach out of range at wave top level using the carrier for cover -- then just pop up over the stern and wipe out the AA unit before the guy even knows that hit him.

The Helos handle very similar to the old DC mod for BF1942,...I likey, I do wish the Hind could also transport like the real deal, at least 2 guys with or without a door gunner.

All I know is that being a co-pilot in the Hind ROCKS!

Luckily I was riding with a good pilot so I racked up kills and zero deaths. Like fish in a barrel....

Haven't flown or riden in anything else yet.

Sure, it would tear it up easily without a single missile, but the carrier is the ONLY place to go on the Iron Gator. How are we supposed to stay away from it? Also, sure in real life it could easily take out a chopper, but at the same time a chopper's missiles should be able to take it out in 2 missiles max. MEC gets a tungusta that can be destroyed with 3 missiles. The carrier AA takes 6-7.
