Sorry mate i haven't tried it yet.

What I would like to know is, do you need to have SF Exspansion pack to install this patch, or will it work on just BF2?

The patch is for both SF and vanilla BF2. IOW, no, you don't need SF to install this patch. So if you want to play on servers upgraded to 1.12, you better do the same :)

Mac, I have the same problem. I sent EA an email and hopefully will get an answer. I cant play BF2 till I get this resolved.

no, I wish I had that crack, but im too scared to find it because of punkbuster. This computer is less than 3 weeks old with all the newest drivers.

fixed it just uninstall bf2 and reinstall and only put the new patch on forget the others

As with almost all games, you never need to install all the patches, the the last one released.

It may be that your firewall is blocking access. Are you running Norton? I am and had this happen, Norton seems to see each patch as a new program, and so needs to be configured to allow access. This may happen with other firewalls too.
