BF2/SF maps on single server!? NO!

Is there any way to mix BF2/SF mods/maps on single server ?

I think that isn't possible and I'm now really ****ed off!
Come on EA, WTF!!!???

In short:
(If you want to play Gulf of Oman and Devil's Perch on your server you must run two game servers! One for BF2 mod and other for SF mod. That's ridiculous EA!!!)

I disagree with you. It should be the way it is right now.

I do not have SF. so if I connect to such a server then I will get disconnected when SF map loads. You may disconnect most of the players connected to your server at that moment.

I see what you mean, I would like all maps able with SF too. Maby after 1.12
we may have that.

How irritating would it be to constantly being kicked off servers and being told you need sf. That would basically force people to buy special forces. And then people would moan at ea even more.

Another case of somebody blaming EA when this info was very much available before SF was released.

It would have been fun on the BF2:SF servers. That way the non-BF2:SF users would not have gotten onto the server in the first place, but you can see why, if they had done that it would have divided the community into those with SF (who would never using anything else if the vanilla maps where available) and those without.

Personally I think it is better this way...

So basically what EA did is that they made new GAME!
You can play Battlefield 2 or you can play Special Forces online.

It's not ADDON it's a new game that needs older one (BF2) to work.
But I don't see the reson why SF needs BF2 installed when SF installs almost everyting new.

Don't know if you are familiar with BF1942 guys, but I was running BF1942 server with ADDONS: Road to Rome and Secret Weapons.
All 3 mods and maps for them were working on one single BF1942 server without disconnecting users and changing game MOD.

What they did with BF2-SF really sucks.

I started BF games with BFV so I do not know how that worked...

What happened if you did not have the expansions and tried to get on a server that did have the expansions but was running an orginal map? Did it let you on? What happened when an expansion map came up?
