    Patch Failure....again

OK...I've read numerous posts here...here's my issue:

    New Install Windows
    New Install of BF2
New Install of BF2 Patch 1.03

    RESULT: PATCH FAILUED

Blew away all evidence of the game

    RE-INSTALLEDBF2
    INSTALLED NEW Special FOrces

    PATCH FAILED to INSTALL.

Blew away BF2 AGAIN...MANUAL INSTALL of PATCH 1.12...FAILED

HEre's my question: are there any known issues with SATA drive installations or the new windows security that is preventing me from insatlling this game? I have installed/ REInstalled and Installed probably 35 times and I cant get this game to work. I have read every thread on numerous boards....contacted the EA Support people that think I have some game called POGO and they were absolutely no help whatso ever... If anyone has any advice other than to give up on the game...I'd like to hear.

    Thanks

Sound like you don't know what you're on about.
Don't be posting your stupid comments if you don't know how to fix the problem. You're only confusing people even more
I just bough Special Forces and i can't install it because of the same problem.
When it patches BF2 to 1.1 it says 'patching failed' (same thing happend with all the previous patches of this game )
Only the thing is : i could manually install all the patches for BF2 no problem , but how do i install Special Forces manually ? As far as i know its the only way to install it

EA GAMES , I ****ING HATE YOU

I took it upon myself to call the guys at EA to figure out this problem. After much waiting, I now have a fully operational game.

My advice, call EA tech support they are 24x7 and very helpful.

If I could remember all the steps I had to take I'd post it...but I don't CALL EA!

                Re: Patch Failure....again

I've another hard disc , and on the other hard disk i've Windows XP 64 Bit. I installed BF2 on it then SF . No patching failed error . I copyed entire folder onto my primary hard disc and now i can play it no probs . Its a really good game .
But ffs WHY do we have to go through all the trouble to play a game that we buy :hmm: I also read today on one of the forums that 'patching failed' error is caused by RAM. (doesn't mean that something is wrong with your RAM)

So my advice to you : if you can't install Special Forces - Use someone elses PC to install + patch it and then just copy entire folder.

                Good Luck All

This problem is getting really old, I too have the same problem though without the usage of SATA. All I know is I'm about ready to go on a rampage because my game got screwed over. :-(

Im trying the Uninstall bf2 completely, and then reinstall method, to now find that the vanilla game wont even patch ! woot !
