hi -- i unlocked the f2000 for assault.. but i don't see it in my KIT INFO area.. the FLASHBANG still has a locked symbol next to it and also when i play the SF maps.. can't choose the f2000.. something wrong?

Which sucks. Because they are pretty pointless as if you have the expansion you wont want to play the older maps. And most likely SAS and SEALS will be full all the time. This really sucks.Originally posted by PaxtonComment

The f2000 GL is like every other GL except the regular gun its attached to absolutely pwns by itself so you don't really need to use the GL....
And you can only use your new unlocks in sas and seals while playing SF, while playing normal bf2 you can use everything but grapple hooks, tear gas and the zip line..Comment

HOLD THE FRONT PAGES! Let me guess this right. Is it possible to use a Special Forces unlock like the F2000 in BF2? Thats what it sounds like from your posts, but only for the relvant side... i.e. if you are american then the unlock will only be available amongst the american class in BF2. If this is the case thats kinda ****ty thing to do as nobody will choose to be Iraqi, Russian etc.

In BF2:SF there are some new weapons that are available to different sides as standard weapons (mainly the SEALs and the SAS, but the insurgents and rebels get the lovely RPG). The standard BF2 unlocks are available in BF2:SF if you have already unlocked them.
BF2 (post BF2:SF and the 1.12 patch), there are bascially 4 new unlocks available that you can unlock pretty much like any other unlockable weapon when you go up a rank with one extra rule. To unlock the new assault class unlock (the F2000) you need to have already unlocked the G3. The same applies to the Spec Ops, Medic, Support and Engineer. The Sniper and the AT get no new unlocks.
Additionally it may be the patch or the install of BF2:SF or both but I got 3 more unlocks without going up a rank last night (all at once)...Comment

My explination works for BF2:SF owners... BF2 vanilla only owners do not get the additional unlocks (I am not commenting on the "fairness" of this).
But you can pick them up off corpses just like anyone other unlockable weapon you don't normally have access too...
Addressing the orginally poster, I too have noticed that dispite unlocking the F2000 it is not listed as an available unlock in the BFHQ section which shows you various weapons. It only shows the Flashbang... But well, you still get the gat in the actual game...Comment
