What does 1.12 and BF2:SF mean to me?

Well there is alot of confusion on what today's events have done to the BF2 world so allow me to enlighten some of you. This isn't a flame nor am I looking down on anyone I just want to get eveything right out in the Open.

Patch 1.12 allows BF2 Vanillan owners to interact with BF2:SF owners on the stock BF2 maps. Yes the BF2:SF owners DO get to use their unlocks. They don't get to use the Zip line nor the Hook as far as I can see. But Yes flashbangs are allowed, I don't know about Tear gas yet. Vanillan BF2 owners CAN pick up SF kits and use the weapons that the SF come with upon spawning. Vanilla BF2 players CAN NOT spawn with SF weapons.

I do feel that SF weapons are alittle better then stock BF2 weapons...maybe its just me using a different weapon that I like or maybe they are. This Puts Vanilla BF2 users at a Slight dissadvantage...but I would put money this is what EA wanted to you would go out and buy BF2:SF to play on the same level.

BF2:SF allows the Owner to get more unlocks, 5 total, and use them on servers that have upgraded to 1.12. BF2:SF also get more Infantry based maps, and I have to say some of them are very fun. I find they are a little bit better laid out then most of Vanilla BF2 maps are, Also we get 2 new choppers, the Longbow and the Hind.

If you are getting bored of the Plane whoring, and if your an infantry man at heart the Pick up BF2:SF It has no more bug the BF2 has and only the new uber stuff that came with the game is small potatos.

Please fell free to post what you have noticed.

A comment like that could be confused for condoning the hacking of copywritten software, which is illegal.

Watch it, you may get stung.

Yes I am 100% sure unless you buy BF2:SF you will not spawn with a SF weapon I.E. F2000. Putting people without BF2:SF at a large dissadvantage to people with it.

7 new weapons cannot justify $30 out of me...

Yet you pay 50$ for a decent meal someplace.. how can you possibly compare monatary value in a place like this mate?

How much did you spend on your computer?
How many games have you bought that you dont play? (i wanna play Alpha Centauri again, but i cant coz i run win2kpro, not 98 )
How much do you spend on petrol annually?
How much do you spend on power and water? On internet fees?

For the cost of all these consumables you whine a forking lot about something you can keep forever..

Well as it stands right now I think it was a decent $30 spent...just to have the whole new experience of Hooks and Zip lines...I enjoy it...

I'd say New guns, maps, 'n vehicles is just about worth for me $30... of cource it works out to about $50 since I'm a 'Nuck (tax 'n stuff, ya know?).

However, annoying game dynamics (I hate "dark" levels), more bugs 'n play issues, and rushed implementation is certainly NOT worth $30!!

Since the current track record isn't what I'd call "spectacular", I'm a gonna wait 'n see. If people pick it out 'n say it's cool, I'll pick it up eventually.

There is a patch for Alpha Centauri you know . I've been playing recently on my XP system against another XP system. No problems. (Just make sure you choose to use old the voxel system.

But yeah...many of us spend $200-400 on computer upgrades to play games (some much much more) yet whine about $30-50 about a game? Get a job. Or find a talent and exploit it.

I learned how to fix computers and I get paid plenty because of it well before I could get a legal job.

Well, I must say that my initial opinion of BF2:SF is favorable. I believe that I have received my money's worth with this expansion.

When looking exclusively at the new additions to the BF2 experience, there are admittedly few. Some new weapons here, a new vehicle there, ziplines and grappling hooks, etc. However, I have found the implementation of these few features to make for quite an interesting and unique game.

But as they say, time will tell.
