Is there a new patch just for Special Forces or BF2 itself or for both of them, which one do I need to play on the latest?

the new patch is just for SF owners so they can play on BF2 or SF servers.

The new patch is for both, yes it allows SF owners to play on BF2 servers but it also fixes some bugs with BF2 and seeing as most servers have updated (BF2 servers) you will have to update your BF2 1.03 to 1.12 to play on BF2 servers, then if you buy SF after you updated and install it you will need to apply the 1.12 patch again to your SF install.

We have a ranked server, I have seen patches for the unranked server update. Is there a patch for ranked servers ?

I see it like this. If you don't have SF and you don't want to see SF players using their weapons and unlocks on standard BF2 servers then don't install the patch and continue to play on v1.03 servers.

If you don't mind SF weapons (which you will not be able to spawn with unless you own SF) in the same game as you then go ahead and patch.

I will probably purchase SF but I think it is a shame that EA/Dice didnt just incorporate SF into BF2 w/out charging there customers more money, it isnt like they already sucked in about 50 bucks from each of us now 25 more... when does it stop....

The worst thing though is that me and a couple of others have been posting this info in the forum for about a week now hoping that when it all happened, most people would say

"oh, here's the patch I read about. Now I'll download it."

rather than the chaos :)

yeah, some bugs... such as you dont get flashed with the old patch, but now u do in the new patch while u cant get flashbangs but SF owners can.:laugh:

that's why i havent installed 1.12. :p
