    is this right?

    install battlefield 2: SF, it automatically installs the patch, then SF. then after thats done, i need to install the Patch again??

      SF applies a patch but there is already a new patch to go ontop of that. I think SF updates to 1.1, and then you gotta download 1.12. Make sense?
