I feel like the BF2 enthusiast in me just died over the weekend (vent)

It's really weird but it seems like Friday I never felt more greatful to own BF2, but over the weekend and now my enthusiasm seems to have completely dissappeared. I don't know why but suddenly I'm just not "feeling" the game anymore. It's not because of bunnyhopping n00b tubers, spawn killers, or hovering gun barring helicopters...it just feels empty now. Even when I'm pwning I don't seem to care, I just think "*sigh* gotta keep this up for a few more minutes, then the round will end and I can leave this server". Maybe getting the expansion pack will cure this, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, if you have any advice, I'd appreciate it. For now I'm taking a break from the game, not sure for how long, atleast the vanilla version.

And don't reply saying "OMG u r teh whinnzor of teh wtf lozl!@". You were warned this was a vent.

If you're like me, you play a game to have fun. If you're not having fun, don't play the game! :)

At that point I play something else that I'm feeling an interest in. Then later on I might come back the old game, or I might not ever play it again. Just do whatever you enjoy. I wouldn't play a game if it felt like a chore!

It happens with pretty much any game, except the really really good ones.. Just take a break, and all will be well.

it is empty and hollow because of the way people choose to play. Sometimes you're on a good server and REALLY having a good time with nice people and then you get on another and it's just a complete cluster**** and you just kind of get de-tached from the gameplay......I took about a month off and came back using SKYPE to talk with my friends in real time and it has taken on a whole new fun factor :)

Thought about joining a clan? or getting your friends involved in the game? I find this game is much better when you have people you know working together.

Thanks for the advice guys. But I don't know right now, as I said, I've definatly had games I know SHOULD be really fun (everyone is nice, and works as a team, and I get into the some great, intense firefights). I guess I will take a break.

games do tend to get old after you have played them for nearly 500 hours...

Call of Duty 2 has a really great singleplayer experience. Just a suggestion.

I just spent about $80 on 6 games by shopping for previously "hot" titles online. Take a break from the online mayhem and do a single player game now and then. Maybe even try a different genre, like a flight sim or RTS. It breaks the FPS monotony by bringing in a <insert genre> monotony!

everyone has a burnout point, some games only a few minutes others a few months.

Take a break, get over your depression and pick it back up when you feel the urge.

Hmmm, maybe its your 480 + hours that you put into this game. Thats 20 freaking days. Do I need to say anymore?? Take a damn break. Walk outside. Enjoy human contact. It might help.

Take a break and be calm about it. I take breaks from every game I play, and then come back to the good ones. It would rather be stranger if you kept being enthustiastic non-stop. In a week, or two, or maybe three, you'll feel that you want to play again.

Remember, the point of playing is to have fun. Once you're no longer having fun, it's time for a break.

try playing halo 2 online... that game is fun as hell and addictive.. i played that game from the day it came out until about september, (i stopped because the xbox got ****ed up) and then i found BF2.. since my parents (like most) are divorced, i have to go back and forth each week. i can only play BF2 at my dads house because at my moms house i have a ****ty computer...351 MHz.... need i say more... lol

but at my dads i have an awesome computer, and i can play BF2 over there. i think the game will last longer for me this way because when i am at my moms there will always be that slight urge to play BF2. but halo 2... man that game really is fun... if you are looking for another game (for a break) look into getting halo 2 with xbox live. you will probably quit bf2 and just start playing that. its pretty damn fun.
