Order of Install

Once and for all can someone who's gone through the procedure of installing and patching SF let us in on the order of installs. All these threads are kind of confusing.

I am currently downloading the game itself (SF) from the EA downloader. I am also downloading the 1.12 patch from fileplanet. Now, assuming I have both installers sitting on my desktop...what is the order? SF main install, finish. Then patch it? I am assuming this is the way to do it, but I may be mistaken...thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you would install SF and THEN install the 1.12 patch but would be nice to get an official word.

Yes that would be correct.

SF -> 1.12

or if you installed 1.12 before sf, then:
1.12 -> SF -> 1.12

That is also what is said in the readme.txt:

IMPORTANT
- If you have installed the 1.12 patch to core Battlefield 2 and then installed
Battlefield 2: Special Forces, you will need to re-apply the 1.12 patch again
to be able to play on 1.12 Servers.

It says it on the official page...

If you've installed the 1.12 update to the "core" Battlefield 2 product and then installed Battlefield 2: Special Forces afterwards, you will need to re-apply the 1.12 update to be able to play on the new 1.12 Servers.

So just install SF, then patch it.
