Ok so when I install sf do I have to go to a certain site to downloaded the new patch before I play or what?

No, during the SF install it will patch the game automatically....

Ok, so it updates it during install? Sounds good, i dont understand why they dont have that for BF2.

lol, where do you look while installing something on the PC ?
Didnt you see the patch message during the begin of the SF install ?

You know, im starting to get really confused with everybody asking the damn patch.....now im not sure at all...

I havent even gotten the game yet so i am not even sure what its going to be like. I think i am getting confused about it as well.

The patch that was included on the SF setuip seems to be out of date. YOu'll probably need to download the 1.12 patch to bring your version up to 1.1.2554-356

All the Ranked Sf servers are running this version.

Yes it is.

EA UK posted it up earlier this morning. They don't want to announce it until it's on all the ftp servers worldwide, just like the 1.03 patch.

Because BF2 could not possibly patch itself from the CD due to there being no patches in existence when the cd was printed.

EA's site does not have it as of yet....they only have the non ranked server patch. I did follow a link to that Korean site, and it's coming in at 23K/sec. When using the EA downloader, it does patch the game to v1.1, but you still need the v1.12 patch (client) in order to be up to date. I can't even get in the game, mine shows the splash screen, then dumps me back to my desktop. I can't start regular BF2 either now. Still have over 3 hours at that speed, maybe I can find another mirror for the 1.12 patch, and hopefully, it fixes my CTD...

Exactly.

I installed SF and it is something like 1.1.2554-xxx but its not 356.

I'm downloading the 1.12 patch right now off of www.fileshack.com 280mb download.

I was wondering why there were no ranked server showing up in the in game browser...now I know :)

Isn't this crazy? Pay $29 for a patch, then it finally gets released, and takes 15 min to install, then go on-line, then told "my version older then server", then go on EA and download new 280 meg patch (and now their slow)
