At least Steam made the retail users wait and all users can start playing at the same time, but this EA downloader is stupid. Retail users can play earlier than EA downloader users who paid the same price for late playing, lack of boxes and manual and a horrific piece of software (the downloader).

Exactly, Steam is much more repectable piece
of software now that I've seen both in use.

EA Downloader merely downloads the game [encrypted]
and unlocks at a certain time. Steam manages all their
games in one place, updates games automatically, and levels the
launch-time for all users no matter retail or downloaded. Poor EA
doesn't seem to get much right nowadays, despite all the revenue.

So I stayed up till 4:00 just to check if the stupid downloader worked...and of course....I get the error even when it says ready to install.

Oh well, I'll wake up and be able to play it anyway, no big deal.

word..I got that error when I tried to install. I restart the program and the time is 8 more hours...oh well..I did expect it to be available at 1pm est.. hopefully it's smooth at that time. Good thing I'm usaully up at these times and didn't wake up just to check.

im ringing EA 2moro if i still have the same problem cause it was supposed to be realeased on the he fukin 22nd which is today but if it has 7 hours left it will be 23rd, EA has messed BF2 up, but fukin up sumthing as important as this is just wrong, they need to stop making buggy software the sorry fuks!

I agree with the previous post about earliy release time... Thats the only reason I paid 29.99 plus the Cost of Bandwidth for the game.... WTF I could of got it and installed it before it is released by the TImer ...... Lame.... LEason Learned..... Sry for type oh's Just hazy eyed and fustrated @ the moment.

Purchase and pre-load the game today. You’ll be one of the first to play on release day, November 22 at 1pm EST. it says that on the ea website when u pre-order bf2:sf and download that ea downloader

EAD doesn't work with Internet Explorer 7 Beta. I had to uninstall to get it to work.

Otherwise it just pops up an error box reading "CORE".
