Ok brief discription of my system. P4 3.0 1gig of ram audigy 2z ATI 9800 pro 128 . My problem started about a month ago since the game came out and all patches I have had highest fps of 80 but normaly 40-55-60 worst was low 30. in last month I get a constant 15.0 fps all settings new drivers old drivers defraged disk cleaned...I have spent 3 days formating and going from XP to win2k so now I have a clean puter all new drivers.. nothing extra....still 15.0 deaded on no change I am completely lost on why 15.0 with out moving and why it would have changed. This makes the game completely unplayable...I built this system to play this game. Any thoughts?

Re: Ok completely losing it. plz help
Like specified in the other link, V-sync, vertical syncronization.Originally posted by FASTAfter reading the small write up . It sounds like a possibility. Could anyone help me with an ATI card find out what may lock the refresh rate. Or if that would lock my FPS at 15.0...
Thx
If you run at 60Hz and v-sync on, but you can't achieve 60 FPS, v-sync will sync to the hz/2 first = 30Hz, and if your gfx card can make it 30 FPS it will try 30/2= 15 FPS.
Try disabling v-sync in ATI control panel. Do you use the ATI driver with Control Panel or Catalyst Control Center??
v-synch is often best when you can get FPS = Hz or more.
Did you patch Windows 2000 to SP4 ?Comment

Re: Ok completely losing it. plz help
I have updated to sp4 everything is updated because of formating the hd to fix the prob. Before I reformated I was using Omega drivers. Now after I am using ATI 5.11 with control panel. What could have changed even by accident
That would not change back after reformating and new drivers.Comment

I assume that BF2 is reinstalled too and there are no leftovers from previous installation, like if you saved your profile or installed BF2 on other harddrive.Originally posted by FASTI have updated to sp4 everything is updated because of formating the hd to fix the prob. There is a command in BF2 game.lockfps by default it is set to 100, just for fun make type game.lockfps in console while being in-game and make sure it is set to 100. How this would be altered I have no idea but just to make sure, mmmkay
EDIT: the v-sync in in the 3D tab in ATI control panel.Comment

Re: Ok completely losing it. plz help
Ok I have done nothing but look around the internet for this prob...I have seen players with the same problem with differnet video cards ...some claiming since the 1.3 patch that sounds right to me...new patch then the prob...I ave tried the newest patch and still 15.0.
There must be some one out there that has fixxed this problem. Want to buy SF but no point if I can't even play Bf2 anymore.Comment
