Well... What I'm guessing is this.

I bases the timer off of your local time, so if you change your local time it changes.

However, I'm pretty sure they set a base time, like say 5:00am EST tonight. They won't activate the downloader until that time, so reguardless of what your counter says it won't matter. But it will allow for you to know how much time is left till they activate.

Yeah thats what I figured, but I'm wondering if they set the base time to 1:00pm Tuesday, like they said on their websites.

Well I'm sure it WAS set at that, which is why the counter was set to go off then.

But then it seems they updated the release time, and thus the counter updated, it does have to be connected to a server after all.

I'm guessing we can install tonight at 5:00 EST.

I have this error also and can not figure out what the heck is going on please can someone help me. I reinstalled EA downloader about a 20 times already and I am getting **** with this 7049.0 error

I had the same 7049 problem on my machine, through trial and error I found that my nVidia firewall/active armor was causing the problem, when I switched it off EA downloader started working properly again, hope this helps somebody.
