Error #7049 0

I am downloading SF right now and every 5-10 mintues I get an error message in the EA downloader #7049 0.

I then have to hit the close window button and reclick on the EA icon in the quick lauch icon tray to restart from the point of where I got my error message. Then I wait another 10 minutes...restart...etc.

Anyone else having this problem?

Nope, mines been downloading for an hour and its over the 1 gig area....

13 minutes to go.

Must be a download cap on EA downloader cos ive got a 10mb line.

Anyhow, id restart windows to see if that helps... Ie explorer might be screwing with it (common problem i have with net related things... IE screws them up from time to time)

It's more then a Gig... The counter lies.

Is that the pre-loading part when you order it, or are you somehow actually installing it to play?

Its downloading, it won't let you install/play until the timer counts down.

I had the same problem, and I have a perfect 5mbps down internet connection. I just stuck it out. I had to restart it every <50megs, it was pretty annoying, but worth it.

What did you do?


*EDIT:* Ok, so I've realized that you just changed the time or date on your PC.... What I want to know is... Did this work or did you f*ck up your install?

I'll post it here too, just so those here can see it.

Change the date on your PC in windows to tomorrow. The install now button will appear.

DO NOT PUSH THE BUTTON.

There I warned you, I'm not pushing it because frankly I don't want to Screw up my bf2:sf install. If you do and it works, please tell us. But I'm going to wait my time.

I tried it a couple hours ago and it gave me an error that wouldn't let me install the game.

It didn't damage anything, I just changed the date on my computer and re-logged the EA downloader and it went back to the timer which now says 6 hours and its 10:00 my time

i thought the game was out tomorrow at 1est, why does the counter say 6 hours left, that would mean its coming out at 5est AM tomorrow moring

Yeah, mine is just under 6 hrs. And its 9:00 my time.

So I guess we wait.

I'm curious to know if we have to wait till 1pm even though the counter says 6 hours or whatever.

You can change the counter to whatever you want by changing the windows time like others have tested, so I wonder if the counter means anything.
Like, I wonder if after those 5-6 hours runs out if we will even be able to install it then....curious curious.

Well... What I'm guessing is this.

I bases the timer off of your local time, so if you change your local time it changes.

However, I'm pretty sure they set a base time, like say 5:00am EST tonight. They won't activate the downloader until that time, so reguardless of what your counter says it won't matter. But it will allow for you to know how much time is left till they activate.
