I recently have just started Mapping. I have been using tutorials, the lot. But, in one tutorial, it tells me to find static objects under objects in that side bar on the left (default). But, i cannot see Static Objects in it. Any ideas?

Yes, i did, but all there is, is Common, effects, kits, soldiers, vehicles and weapons.Comment

apologies for reviving dead thread, however I had this same problem but have at the time couldn't find a solution to it.
The particular tutorial you were following specifies to goto 'mod manager' and addin extra componants.
My experience was that if you completed tute 1 and went straight to tute 2 without closing the editor, the mod manager would display an error along the lines of 'a required componant could not be found' or something like that.
Simply close the Editor. Once you have the editor started again, without loading a map, go directly to the mod manager.
