    Project Reality

Are you tired of putting a clip in someone's chest and have them not die? Shooting someone with a .50 caliber and not getting a kill? Tanks not blowing up after 3 AT rockets? Bunnyhoppers? Being spotted by a magical UAV? The same old conquest gamemode?
Want to fly a MH-6 Littlebird? Use SABOT and HEAT rounds for tanks? Use an optical zoom and range finder for tanks? See blood when you shoot someone? Use a slug that is accurate past 20 feet for the shotgun?
This is all possible in the Project Reality Mini Mod. Check it out at www.realitymod.com.

Hehe... plugs don't get more obvious than this. :p

While I'm not a big fan of the mod myself, I do encourage those of you who hate the unrealistic elements of BF2 to go check this out. It really does ramp up the realism.

    Go check it out.

I still wanna fly that Little Bird in standard BF2!!

      Re: Project Reality

I played PRMM for about 1/2 hour and found it really good. But I would like a list of all the changes that are in the final build of the mod.

Please don't give me the change log of the final build as that might only contain the revisions from the previous release. I did look on the website but gave up.

I thought asking here would give more people the opportunity to see the changes that make the game better.

      Thanks

I tried PR, but ended up uninstalling it. I dont want BF2 to become a war sim, just want to have fun

Ahh, different strokes for different folks I guess. Personally, I find PR to be far more enjoyable than regular BF2. Unlike BF2, PR was never designed to be something for everyone and this is a good thing. PR attracts the kind of player who enjoy a less arcade style of action. This is the best thing about a modable game like BF2, when things are looking tired or you just can't take anymore BS then mods are there to provide a niche you can call home.

None the less, if you are anoyed by some of things Happy mentioned in the initial post then you should definately give it a try. Many do so and never go back to regular BF2. It's free, easy to install and it doesn't affect your ability to play "vanilla" BF2.

Scott, have you tried the new AAS game mode by chance? Few people have heard about it, as it was put in the mod sort of silently.

At the moment, nearly all of the servers have switched to AAS because it provides far superior gameplay to BF2's conquest mode ... in most of our opinions of course.

I like PRMM the problem is no one plays it there bearly is any servers that is no laggy this is the reason why i dont like mini mods that much. This is not PRMM's fault it is BF 2 DICE fault for releasing a sh1tty game engine and a sh1tty browser most people probebly cant find any servers at all.

Yup, EA could have made the mod support a lot better.
                Not to mention the game.

Most of my BF2 buddies are too busy playing ranked Vanilla games to rack up points...

If BF2 automatically tracked mod stats and made it the focus of the game...

Alas... we are stuck with 1.03 for a long while yet.

The only new patch I'm aware of is the SF compatibility patch... nothing to do with improving / fixing BF2.

I understand the patch will weigh about 280 MB. That's only for compatibility purposes? No Fixes whatsoever? Sounds a little hard to believe...

                    Re: Project Reality

I tried it this morning and have to say I was pretty impressed. I found the Wolf server and, unfortunately, we only had about 6 guys playing on Karkand, but it was still fun. I really liked being able to change tank rounds -- nice job on that.

The mod does require some getting used to and a change of game tactics (unless you want to die all of the time that is). I likened it to the first time I played Forgotten Hope after vanilla BF42. The lethality of the battlefield is increased substantially.

Can't wait to find a full server.

Hmm, it sounds interesting but don't games on the bigger maps end up being like "hey, let me run over here BLAM" and someone has killed you instantly from miles away with just one bullet or two?

It could happen that way, but, first off, you don't run around -- you crawl, squat, sneak, hide, etc. Second, you can also kill them with one bullet or two so it all evens out.

                          Re: Project Reality

                          1. We need more servers hosting this mod.

                          2. I'm a little miffed the AH-6 Littlebird doesn't have weapons. I mean, not even a TOW pod, Hydra pod, or gatling gun. C'mon! It should also be way faster and agile than the AH-1Z Super Cobra.

                          3. I'm loving that only Special Forces get parachutes. Makes insertions much more logical.

                          4. Loving the reduce armor/increased damage. Now it only takes a couple rounds to down a guy, not a couple clips.

                          5. Loving the reduced ammo capacity. Now Support kits are in higher demand to keep AT and SpecOps players fitted for maximum effect.

                          6. UAVs must now be requested by squad leads and approved by the commander, not doled out by the commander's will.

                          7. Sattelite scans are removed, so no more lack of stealth.

                          8. Anti-air turrets WORK.

With this mod, real players will survive. All the twitchplay, bunnyhopping noobs will be cut down within the first 5 minutes. Tactical play has been reborn.

No. It's a separate exe file on the desktop. You can switch between PRMM and vanilla BF2 at will.
