    Freezing At Server Load

Ive noticed lately that when I select a server to play in and click it, that it starts to load and then freezes. Sometimes I am able to ctrl alt del and get out and sometimes not. This makes me have to restart my puter. Irritatin g to say the least. Thought maybe it was just time of day, maybe many cable users, but I tested everything and my speed and pings are excellent. Everything is up to date and functioning fine. Seems to be something with the game. Anyone else had this problem? Thx

thats the same problem ive got i havent been able to play bf2 at all during 1.3 patch, and i do use a router to connect to the net. Although it doesnt frezze you can see people playing behind the spawn screen, but you cant move the mouse. This game is a disaster!

farrocious, if you can connect to a server but the mouse and keyboard don't work then it's a different problem. You need to reset controls to default settings in the game options.

MWHRowdee I may have misread your post. You can browse for servers yet when you connect to one it's the loading map part that freezes? Hmm, I was told that loading data errors was a RAM problem and that 'verify data' errors or delays was a hard drive issue.

I'll see what I can find.

My hardware is fresh and good quality. 2 gigs of pc3200 and Raptor hdds. It gets to the load screen and then freezes. Sometimes I can just ctrl alt del and shut it down, but other times I have to reboot puter. Doesnt happen all the time.

BF:2 has proved to me that new RAM can sometimes be bad. So far a LOT of people have had to buy new RAM that works perfectly with every other app, but BF2 detected errors in it.

I doubt that it's your problem but let Memtest run overnight just in case.
