I got mine on Dragon Valley.
I was Chinese and juist kept spawning at the Power station flag, there is a Type98 there and almost no one else will spawn there so as soon as you die the tank will be there for you again, just jump in it each time and rack up the kills.
The round I got mine I also happened to waste a full BlackHawk which was helpful.

i got mine as an engineer on karkand in a tank. I convoyed with an apc who also was an engineer. also ended up getting 118 points that round.

I got mine on Mashuur city. Sorry if i spelled it wrong, I know it has two U's in it but I am too lazy too look up the correct spelling. Anyway, I was on a 32 player server, and basically all I did was got in the tank, and kept driving. For the life of me, I did not stop moving that tank. Stopping = death. C4, mines, artillary, and even well placed AT missiles, not to mention other tanks, can easily take you out while you are stopped. So I kept driving, I would drive to one point, shoot the guys, drive to another, and so on. I was not even trying to get the ribbon, I just was having fun lol. If you do have to stop, make sure you have a gunner in the top, so they can keep a constant eye all around you for those sneaky spec ops guys that so love to blast you with c4. This tactic I used also probably is outdated though, since this was before the overwhelming use of the "jihad car"

Both. I logged most of my time as a sniper while being a commander.
You can tell if you look... hehe, 1 lousy kill with the rifle!
I SUCK at sniping... but the suit is nice for hiding.

Does the time limit reset if you get out/die? That would really suck! If so, I presume you can kill 19 people with the armour & die a load while doing it. Then take it to a more isolated spot & wait till the time is fulfilled? Or does it combine total time in armour in a round & total kills in armour in a round?

I got the chopper ribbon without dying so I don't know.

You can get out/die and it will still track your time. I got mine while armor whoreing on Karkand - just stay a distance away from an enemy flag and blast them until your team comes up to cap the flag. Don't drive into a flag solo in a tank/APC or you will be c4'd or AT'd in no time.

Karkand for sure, Sharqi a close second IMO. Stay back, your job is not to take flags and it's about killing infantry not tanks / APC [certainly kill them too though.]

You get time credit for both commanding and current kit of course.

Here's another tip I've been doing.

The Vet AT badge requires 15 hours in a TOW or MG hardpoint which is just never gonna happen in real game play.
When I've been commanding lately, I also hop on a G-D weapon to get time credit there too so someday I get that badge, would work for AA too.

                        Re: Armored Service Ribbon?

you just need to be in the tank for 20 min...dosnt matter if you die or getting out of the tank...kills are easy to get...but the time limit can get a bit tricky...as some others say..find a 64 players map...if you are driving a lot it is very, very, very easy to get kills...

when im driving the tank, i get 10-40 kills each round
