this sucks, I WAS on the 1st shipment of the 360 at my local gamestop, then myself and 4 others were bumbed off the 1st shipment.....now I sit here and just get to stare at Perfect Dark Zero, Condemned and Need for Speed....
Got it, friends got it, dormmates got it....all agree it kicks major ass. Since I um aquired cod2 and quake 4 I havent played the 360 versions asides the cod2 demo but holy crap perfect dark zero is awsome. The controller feels tigher then any other system to date to me and I absolutly loved the way all of the last gen controls felt (wavebird, ps2, s-contoller Not the duke) and the 360s is light as hell, small, and feels perfect.
On another note, graphics cant be talked about by anyone who says they suck if they dont have a HD TV since the graphics are made to utilize it. If ya got HD and think they suck blab your mouth off but I think your wrong :p . With HD the games look the same as on a computer and run just as clean.
Oh one more then, I just saw one go for 3000 on ebay for the CORE package....
i just came out of the console world, ive had an xbox since the beginning and have been an intense online gamer ever since it came out. I have kinda faded now from it, the whole clan match dules are fading. Anways i think im making the switch PC now.
Right now u have _-2 CHOICES-_
#1 u can spend 600 bucks on the top xbox "console" remember there is different versions some with more ram some with interchangable parts etc...--------then u can spend 120 dollars worth of new controls controllers------- then 300 dolalrs a year on new games(which most will all come out on pc)-------then in order to play online and have "REAL" fun ull need the gold membership------- after that ur gonna need to start looking at a decent sound system(+$1000)------ now that we have that in order to get good quality HD graphics like a top PC u will need to spend minimum 1600 dollars on a new TV(WIDESCREEN). Now some of those u can multiply in price each year and it will be another say 100 bucks for the account each year and dont forget downaloads for games, oh and buying more games when u get bored and theres a sequal)
UR LOOK AT 4000 dollars of spending if ur going to go the xbox 360 route, which if u do u may probly by the ps3 as well.
OR OPTION NUMBER 2:
You can simply wait a year and a top of the line PC which will do a hell of alot more things and play a hells of alot More styles of game(RTS - RPG - FPS etc). COMPUTERS ARE SLOWER THATN THE 360 AT THE MOMENT.... BUT!!!! wait a year and PC's will again be ahead. SO theres my 2 cents.
A top of the line pc with a great sound system is going to be in the thousands aswell. And still won't be as powerfull as the 360.
I'm a pc fanboy, so i'm guessing once new processors and video cards, and sound cards, come out then we'll again be ahead of the 360. Any next gen nvidia (8?) series commin out? Or ATI?
NOIR your logic amazes me that you think you need to spend anywhere near 4000 dollars to get your use out of xbox 360, sure if you want the best effect you could POSSIBLY do that but if you have that kind of money chances are those 2600 worth of sound and tv you already got, and if not means nothing cause you can still play it. So computers can do things a console cant, it works both ways. Im spending 600 bucks for a 360, controllers, and all that crap and since I'm going to get a softmod which some modders are already working on, I can get games free. Hey look I already got a decent sound system and HD TV which costs nothing near 2600.....so overall it costs me 600 which is less then what it would take to upgrade ram, video card, and processor for my computer. I build computers and Im a computer science major at RIT, top of the line comps cost much more then the 360 even if you take parts from old comps......

I'm with ya man! This "hobby" is an espensive one and that's fine with me. I just spent almost $2000 on my PC and also bought a 360 (still waiting on it ) and ill get the PS3 when it comes out and then when the new PC stuff comes out ..........and the cycle continues CAUSE IT'S FUN!!!!!!!!!!
Well I went out and tried it at my local Walmart. Honestly, I hated it. I think it was a faulty unit becuase some of the items wouldn't load (black screen, had to reset). It is not worth the 400 IMO, but once minor issues are cleared out, and the price drops, I think this could be an OK console.
Oh and I used to be an Xbox fanboy.
Got one with three games and LOVE it! No problems and insane! graphics (HD at 1080i has too be seen)
This and the PS3 are gonna be fun consoles for me when im not playing the PC. So far my girlfriend has used the system WAY more then I have....of course i've been out of town since the day after I got it. This will change...:)
I say if you perfer online, go with xbox, if you enjoy single player, go with PS3. I know PS3 will have online but it's not going to compare with xbox live. So I'm going with xbox :)
