Not sure but a friend of mine has the same thing happening to him. Another weird thing is that he can log into bf2s.com but not retrieve stats from bf2tracker.com. Weird.

did you have all the basic badges prior to 20k..if not you only get master sargeant. You need to have all the basic badges before you reach 20k

Ive have had many clan mates that didnt get all the basic required badges by 20k so they didnt get first sargeant however I did get them all and got first sargeant no problems

No, I did not have all the badges prior to 20k, I just got the badges this week, ( 37-38k points range )

THe only difference is when you're applying for commander, then First Sergeant>Master Sergeant, and Sergeant Major>Master GUnnery Sergeant.

I read that, that wasn't so, its the same rank, just depends on the global score.

yea you have to have the badges before 20000...and also not have gotten the basic pistol/veteran pistol badge at the same time. If you did, you'd be like me and several hundred other people that got screwed out of 1st sgt, since the game only looks for basic badges. That cant happen anymore, but the way it was set up originally it could since basic pistol was 7 kills, and veteran pistol was 7 kills and 50 global kills...so if you had more than 50 global kills but never got the 7 kills on one game, you would receive both badges at the same time, but only the veteran would count. So you never got the basic, and therefore, when you reached 20000, you did not get 1st sgt.

Doesn't matter though, as long as you have all the basic badges, when you get to 50000, you'll get sgt major :)

Someone needs to make a sticky because we're at a point where a lot of players are crossing the 20K mark and don;t understand the <either-or> part with the badges before hand or not.

If you make it to Master Sergeant without the awards, you will not be promoted to First upon earning the missing awards.
