The DVDRom on my laptop computer has broken and it will take 6 days for the replacement to arrive. How can I play Battlefield 2 without my DVD in the drive? I need like a **** patch or something. It really blows that I can't play it till my new DVD arrives...

I'm afraid that you are just going to have to wait.
As another poster resently discovered, attempting to use a ***** "patch", or mirroring the disk to the harddrive will cause you to be detected by PB as having a ripped version.
You could be hardware banned!
Since you SERIOULY don't want to replace your HD and NIC on a laptop, you're just gonna have to suck it up and wait.

I use Daemon Tools and a mini BF2 image as a launcher, no more need of DVD.

its to prevent ppl pirating the game....but use daemon tools
i cant really remember the steps correctly but ull need ur dvd rom in order to do it..
1)download alcohol120%
2)create an image of each cd or dvd
3) mount with daemon tools or alcohol120 but after 30 days u have to pay for alcohol120Comment

Heh, I was hardware banned, but not CD key banned when I tried to mount it.
Thank god I was on my crappy computer.
I really don't recomend mounting a image, unless you have done it before.Comment

Yea Alcohol 120% works well too.. just makes an image of your DVD so you can play without the actual cd.Comment

I've been needing to do this too. I needed a mini image or crack because I set up a network between a computer and a laptop, hoping me and my bro could play together at the some time on different computers and no I'm not about to spend another 80 $ to get another copy. Well I needed a mini image. I downloaded many programs, used game copy world, the works. I tried alcohol and no success, could anyone provide their image or a tutorial, i followed several tutorials and no succes. Also I would like to confirm whether this will have give me a hardware ban or not, after all, having no bf2 is worse than not having it played on 2 pc's.Comment

Gosh... those CD checks are yet another case when legit users are actually handicapped. Pirated users don't have to go through the hassle of keeping their CD in, legit users do. I'm glad that HL2 cancelled its CD check.
I think that Alcohol + Daemon tools, or optionally also Anti-Blaxx will get you the game running. Just be sure to know what you're doing.Comment

screw deamon tools and the mounting, download a crack from any crack site, aply it in ur bf2 directory, launch the game and play, of course that is if u find the crack for patch 1.03 and also own a legit copy of bf2. or else, its illegal. for crack,u can google it.Comment
