Yeah i actually do not play on ultra-high. I just am perfectly satisfied with the high settings. How is the 2 gigs of RAM treating you?

Lol I play at Low Detail because I only have a X800.
Once I make some money from my job, I might get a new Mobo and buy to 6800's.

I can't run at those settings, but to be honest, the only difference I can see between the 2 is that the Ultra High pic has AA.

          Wanna point something out?

hmm? I pointed something out in the article, or was that a bit of sarcasm hahahah. Hey Cougs i dunno how much better a 6800 is better than an x800, if im not right they're pretty close. I mean i have a 256 RAM 6800 and it is awesome but what ya really need to have to play games right is a good pc. You could use that money to start building your own pc and buy a nice motherboard (make sure its SLI or Crossfire compatible).

              Hound_Dawg: I have

              Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
              1Gb RAM
              X700 256mb (Thought it was a X800)
              160Gb Harddrive

My motherboard is just some basic Intel board, Once I have made some money probally around Feburary or March I will buy a SLi Compatible Mobo, a 6800GT, another Gig of RAM and probally another Harddrive.

Anything else you could reccomend me buying?

Would a new 7800GTX handle Ultra High, with 6X AA? Is anyone running that setup, and if so, what is your FPS like?

Unless I'm missing something all he's saying is that he didn't know how to change AA and AF display settings in his video card configuration utility before. You just upped the levels of Anti-Aliasing and texture filtering.
And you definately don't need a nvidia card to do that, just right click the desktop, go to Properties, then the Settings tab, then Advanced. Then the 3D tab and up the settings. I never really thought that people might not know about this before. Good point I guess.

Oh I see, he just figured out how to use AA and AF in BF2.

There is no difference in detail that I can see, besides the ultra high pic is a bit blurrier from the AA.

nVidia cards can't do 6xAA, they can only do 2x,4x, or 8x. Since there is no "real" ultra high, I'd say they could do all high at min of 60fps.

Who are you kidding? There is no difference that I can see at all on my system. Below is High settings on the left, and Ultra high on the right. I'm using 4x AA in both shots.

well you can have 4x aa in the ingame settings as well, so technically your aa on ultra high is the same as your high, you have to put it higher, but i dunno how well your video card could handle it. and also in your "ultra-high" did you put af at 16x and also amp up image quality to high qualty? did not seem much like you changed much in your ultra high, as you can see my ultrahigh looks much different than yours. Also this is not really "ultra" high as someone pointed out, its just a way to put your graphics settings higher than the bf2 application lets you. Im sure a 7800 GTX could run at this highest setting. I mean im can do it with a "vanilla" 6800, its just i have a kickass pc to back up the video card. Its really the pc behind the video card that is most important, then ya go to how good the video card is once your sure your pc is up to snuff. Haha also im no professional at pc i mean, i get this stuff from lots of different pc magazines. A special issue of "PC Hardware" made by Maximum PC told me about this little trick. If you want to learn about how to make your pc the fastest just start researching, thats what i do.

Wait, in order to witness the change the Ultra-High settings, we're suppose to increase the AA? Won't that factor in the comparison and distort how settings in Ultra is different from high?

When it comes to comparison, Wreck, has more credibility since both shots are at 4x AA while the settings are at high or ultra high so we're directly comparing High and Ultra high without AA interfering.

Hound Dawg, take those screenshots again with the same AA level, you're not trying to compare Ultra High + Increased AA here, you're trying to compare Ultra to High itself.

Hound Dawg. while I can see the differences your examples are crap. You need to have AA on in both etc and have a side by side pic like that guy above.
