Ok here is the proof that you can set your graphics much higher than the maxed out settings inn-game. Whether its "Ultra", "Super duper", "Outstanding" or whatever doesn't matter, all i know is its much better than the highest setting in-game. I took some screenshots in .png format, the most replicated image of what a person sees on screen, atleast its better than .jpg. So it might take a little longer to load up. If you cannot tell the difference between the normal high and the "Ultra" high, im sorry, you're in some serious denial.
Here is with everything maxed out in video settings with no overriding settings.

Here is with the settings overriden in nVida profiles,

*Notice the difference in the leaves on the tree, the board, the terrain close, the terrain far. the cliff wall, and the waves at the other end of the lake.
Now will i run at "Ultra" high? Hell no, its way taxing on the computer, and i doubt few will even find it playable. I'm just saying there is a way to put the video settings higher.
How do you do it?
Well first of all get a nVidia card, so you can use nView profiles.
Procedure: Right click your background and select properties, and then under settings click "advanced' then click on your card tab, for example mine says "Geforce 6800" click on this tab and then click on performance & quality settings, then under active profile select global settings, then click "Add profile" below, and then click browse and manually find the bf2 .exe file make a profile name, then click ok and your new Battlefield 2 profile will be displayed in the list of applications, then highlight it and go down to all the settings and take antialiasing and anistrohic filtering off 'appplication controlled' and then you can manually crank antialiasing and anistrophic way past the 'high' settings selected in game, and you'll definatley notice a huge differance, there are also other settings that you can crank up manually. You'll notice a huge difference, but it will kill your computer, good luck.

* I changed the imagehost so now you can see the image at full size, the way i played it. I also cropped the side so that it would be a small enough size that i could host it on imageshack.
Zero difference eh? Heh
