    unlocking weapons

Well, here it is. The 'noob' question of the day, so be sure to set flame=off. I have struggled to finally unlock some weapons in the game, but I would like to just practise with them until I get the hang of using them effectively, but when I went into single-player mode they weren't available. Are the unlocked weapons for multiplayer only? If so, it kinda sucks. After getting my (explitive deleted) handed to me by other players, I like to rebuild my ego by stomping the computer AI. Having the unlocked weapons would help.

    Minor rant follows...

As a side-note, it is mentioned that the M95 sniper rifle is supposed to be able to shoot through windshields. That is bunk. I fired practically point-blank at a guy's head in a helicopter (he had landed at a flag I was defending) but did not die. Also, it should not take 4 AT rockets to kill a tank/APC. And body armor or no, if I empty an entire magazine at point-blank range into you, you die. You do not fire twice and kill me instead. I hope that the next patch will fix the weapon issues.

Welcome to the wonderful world of BF2 :)
Gameplay> realism although I will admit that there are several glalring issues at large.

        Ranting reply...

Oh, I've already been welcomed to the wonderful world of BF2, by the EA Senior Tech Support guy. It took me 3 weeks and $300 to get the game to work. Tried replacing the graphics card, exchanged for new copies, called tech support (long distance - get an 800# EA!). Finally I gave up and let it sit. After a week, my mother-in-law bought me a DVD burner. JUst for giggles, I put the disc in that. I immediately went into shock. I was so surprised that it ran, that I missed the intro movie. I had to quit and run it again to see it. Now, if EA could say "Okay, now to get the game to work, use these CD/DVD drives..."

EA games were better when they were still known as ECA. Of course, that was back in the 80's. And on the Commodore 64. They seem to have gotten worse over the years.

          Easycompany25,

Yes, I have already (as stated above) unlocked 2 weapons. I wish to use them in single-player games. Any advice on that?

You used to be able to edit a file but since 1.03 was released that is no longer possible.

The only way left to do it now it to download the demo and then edit the unlocks file so that you can try them all out in singleplayer.

Ah, so essentially I can't. Hmm... I hope this ends up on EA's "to-do" list. Thanks.
