Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
The L85A1 owns once you get used to it.
But when ive picked up the G36C it did'nt seem anything special, just a bit more powerful that the M4 ect.
My opinion, others may think different
You have to use G36C at long range, with full auto on (burst fire my friend, not full auto) you'll be surprised at how accurate the G36C is, even when bursting. THe G36C is overpowered in terms of accuracy, on the account Eddy01741, i kept getting killed by the G36C, then i just got it as an unlock once i reached Staff sgt. I already had the G36C on my other account, COw123.
Srry for double post( iknow where the edit button is, i've been here since April). BUt this is some pretty conclusive research. Looking at the UBAR from BF2S, there is a formula at the bottom of the kits page. I have gone through the L85, M16, QBZ-97, and the G36C (the M16 and QBZ were for comparison from unlocks). I did the test on a 3 shot burst, while prone, and using ironsights/ scope. THe L85 came in as the worst, with 1.08, the M16 in 3rd with .7, the QBZ with .4725, and the G36C in first with .4, this all means, the G36C is the most accurate of all full auto weapons. And that the L85 IS less accurate than the M16, i'll run the test through some of the LMGs, pistols, and the AKs later when i have time. I hope this helps you in your choice of unlocks.
EDIT: never mind about double post, Bart posted inbetween during my typing. And all test were done with the minimum possible recoil (kinda helps the M16 a bit, i'll run it through with .3 recoil next time).Okay, did the test for the AKs and the G3, the AKs come in at 1.17, for both of them, making the two actually the same accuracy (the only difference is damage, and the AK has a higher maximum deviation when on full auto, so the AK101 is a BIT better on full auto). THe L85 is more accurate than the Aks, the G3 in fact got 1.11, making it more accurate than the AKs (thanks to it's lower recoil when zoomed mod). The M16 with .3 recoil, still got .86, making it the most accurate of assault rifles.
i play a lot of medic, but i would say go with the G36C, more accurate and less recoil.
after i unlocked the L85A1, i used it for a loooong time without using the basic guns at all, but due to its inaccuracy even in the scope mode i find myself using the base guns instead of the L85A1, i mean seriously i have the person aim rite at the tip of the scope and it still misses in single shot...so i got sick of it and just use the basic guns now.
plus the recoil on it is very strong.
u will see a big difference in the recoil of the m4 compared to the G36C, it is seriously an upgrade u should get if your playing a spec ops....as for the L85A1 i could live without it and still be just as effective as a medic.
G36C is much better, and this is comming from someone who used the L85A1 since I was a lance corpral untill the patch. The L85A1 is good for beginners, but after you learn the ups and downs of it you will prob agree that the standard assault rifles are better overal.
Conclusion???!! Both. These to me are the two best guns in the game. And look at the evidence from the posts...nobody mentioned junk like the DOA. But a slightly better gun between the two doesn't nessesarily mean you'll want to play that kit. People might be forgetting to ask this guy the right question. What does he want to focus on or play next...Special Forces or Medic.
Here's one suggestion. Wonder how some of these guys get 100+ points on foot? Unlock the 85', rebind your keys so that "prone" is on your pinky and weapon number "6", the paddles, is on your thumb. Rebind the 85' the number closest to your forefinger so you can get back to it quick. (Sorry guy, I'm left handed, so I'm trying to re-equate). Then with one stroke you can dive and paddle to revive. Then go onto Karkand and see how much fun and how many points you have.
Otherwise, on special forces, go onto Operation Cleansweep (which I personally don't like very much), slap some C4 onto a jeep, pop back to your trigger, get in the jeep, and go after tanks. The fun begins.
Between the two exercises, find out what you like better.
I have incredible luck with the 85.
I have all the unlocks except the G36c and man do I regret it. I get killed by that gun more than anything lately. If I had to do it all over again that would be my first unlock , as it is now for me I;ll probably never get it. I have 25000 and would need another 25000! to get my last unlock..I screwed up!!!!
I hated the LA85 at first, however, in right type of almost a medium range sniper situation its great...once got 40 kills on Wake Island 101 pts, but the majority of the time i get noob tubed on any other map when using that gun OR killed by the G36C!
It really all boils down to what your tastes are. Personally, I don't play medic well or often. So the L8 wasn't a priotiry for me to unlock. If I did play that kit, I would have unlocked it before the G6. Not because I think it's a better weapon, but because I HATE burst fire only weapons and would have seen it as a bigger improvment to the kit.
If you wanna talk weapons straight across, the G6 is a better gun (in my opinion). No scope, but hella kill potential because it's nice 'n stable. The L8 isn't nearly as accurate as some folks like ta believe. It scatters like a SOB in full auto fire and isn't great in single shot. Still, the scope is nice.
get G36!!
+ its got great accuracy and at both long and short distance on both auto and single ofcourse you have to take bursts with auto at long distance
+ i unlocked it first and loved it, besides i love fooling around with c4 so i had to pick the spec ops unlock
- the downside to it is that it does less damage per shot. If you are going to do a point blank range spray against a person with L85 you will probably loose
+ On the other hand, the L85 is an amazing sniper rifle i often use it to beat M24 i hated it at first because i can't even do bursts because of the recoil
but then i foundout its super acurracy on single shot
+ and in short range like the description saids it does more damage per shot than most rifles. On Strike At Karkand i can usually win short range struggles against AKs with it, but "only" when i'm close enough to spray effectively
- L85 sucks really bad when your target is in motion at close distance
unless ur enemy is right upto your face auto mode never works good
but thats just my opinion
I just unlocked the L85 and I love it. It fits my playing style, I perfer to hang back, use the scope and single fire to take out infantry. When its clear, I advance and begin healing and reviving. Its accuracy isn't the greatest, but I play in squads, so it only takes 1-2 bullets to bring an infantry down with the help of my squadmates.
I have both and I'd choose the l85a1. It just so much better than the m16. Also, it really can hold its own at close range simply because its full auto, where the m16 is 3 shot burst. I actually prefer the m4 over the g36c because of the scope.
I am gaining points towards Gunnery Sergeant fast, and I was wondering which gun to unlock-L85A1 or G36C. The L85A1 is an interesting gun, as it has an awesome scope and is a nice change from the M16 when you want to take out enemies from a distance, but it also seems underpowered at close range and has a high deviation per shot. The G36C seems also like a good gun, as it is awesome at sniping, close range combat, and has low recoil, but it seems like a very small improvement over the M4 carbine. I play both kits about equally, but I am leaning towards the medic gun, mainly because the G36C is a very small improvement over the stock M4. Any suggestions to which I should choose?
The answer is obvious dude! G36C IS THE GUN! that L85A1 is worthless compared to the G36C. Actually I feel that the m16 is much better than the L85A1. I do not know why L85A1 was the first unlock of many people. It is very inaccuare in close range and the damage is low.
if you want a sniper rifle and hate to be a real sniper then get the G36C. it is a full-auto sniper rifle!

I'd definatley agree with that, i hit way more with the assult m16 on single shot or in burst than i can with the L85.
The L85 isn't even in the same league as the g36c.
