New Server

New Server
Our gamming community just got a new bf2 server. It runs great. No problems at all, dose not lag. With a low CPU load.

There is one issue it is empty. What do you guys recommend to start getting people in there?

Also I was wondering if any will be willing to help us “jump-start” the server. My planes are at around 8:45-9:00 PM EST to try to get as many people on and hopefully more will come.
Once again we have a great community of other gamers, manly Counter-Strike. We’re new to BF2 and like some suggestions and help. If you guys are interested please join and cheek out http://www.texangirlz.com/forum/index.php?showforum=54

Make sure your stuff is set up right. Battle Coms that don't fuction suck. Turn your Battle Recorder ON! It's a fun option.

Don't be a nazi and don't be a wuss. Deside what your rules are and enforce me with both the velvet glove AND Iron Fist.

You can try bumping up your player counts by inviting clans to have casual/open skirmishs there.

R2 dose have agreat server, used to play on it alot before TgZ got there own.

how would you find scrims
is there an irc channle like they have for CS?

Sup NBL :) If you need us again to jump start your server, you know how to let us know.

As for scrims, I normally just ask any "clan" guys I see, that I think would be good competition, if they are interested and take it from there.

Having a couple squads of different clanners on opposing sides is great for a server. Cahcnes are very good that they will become the backbone of each team. What sucks is when one side it stacked with clan types and the other is filled with smurfs.
Blowouts are sure to follow.

As for contacting, you could try posting an invite or go hunting for serverless clans in the clan section of these forums.

You can filter for battle recorder in the browser, but much like the battle coms, most servers that list it as being active don't have it configured correctly. Or worse, it's set up, but the admin will only let you DL the files if you register and/or pay dues. :hmm:

R2 is the only server I've found to date that has the BR set up properly AND lets anyone DL the .demo files.

Edit: oops, got side tracked and forgot to anser the other part of your question!

You can't enable it client side, unfortunatly. It's server only because all it seems to record is the information that is beeing passed to it.

To access the files, hit the community tab in the browser. You get a list of all the servers that have had BR active while you were playing on them. Simply click the one you want and select DL. Then you can play them from inside the client.

aww that's lame. i wish i could have recorded my sniper rampage the other night. gotta love getting headshots on chopper pilots that are about to take off.

Im not to sure about what servers are running BR where it actually works, I know there arent too many. If you need help setting it up client side Im sure we could help you out :)

yea we need to turn on the recorder, just dont know how or if we have the wxtra room on another server to host them
I think the server should be able to handle it
