My new comp runs great my only problem is the game port on my Sound Blaster GamersX 5.1 Live! #SB0060.
I'm use'n Win XP Pro 64 Edition. The card is no longer supported by Creative but XP 64 came with a driver for the sound chip that works fine.
I am use'n the 64 bit BETA driver for Live! series off of Creative site. I can now play BF2 on high audio settings on this machine no prob, had the same card in my old XP 32 comp & it would crash BF2 with high audio.
Heres the problem its the game port, it seems the generic driver that installs from XP 64 is just some kind of FIX that does not work the port it just makes XP think there is a driver so it wont ask to install at every boot up. It is the same for the BETA Creative driver.
The Game port is present in the device manager, in the properties window, general tab, device status reports " no driver installed for this device " however in the driver tab ther is a Provider & Date listed. Microsoft for generic & Creative for BETAs.
Is there a driver for the game port in the 64 bit drivers that come with any of the newer cards that works. I have an old Sidewinder analog joystick(not USB compatable) I cant use that works fine on my XP 32 comp.
