notes : all video cards must do that , to see enemys clearly
Lighting/low - Dynamic Shadows/off or low - Dynamic Light/off or low

WOW, what a difference with lighting and shadows turned down! You can see so much better. I'll have to do this.

No way I am turning shadows off, so many times this has saved me, seeing an enemy shadow from him being above or round the corner.

Haha.. That's a pretty big difference! On one hand, I am tempted to try it for the enhanced visability, but on the other hand, I like my pretty graphics.

With lighting/shadows turned down, it looks so pre-HalfLife..


I choose pretty graphics.

On my old comp I turned LIGHTING to low for preformance & so I could see inside buildings. My new comp I wanted all my eyecandy so I created a color profile to add to the application profile I use on the game. I did this because the settings that make my games look good make my Desktop look like crap.

I agree, I admit i'm using an old generation 2.2 Ghz processor and I have to play with settings on low despite 1GB ram and a 6800 128mb OC. It is helpful to see the differences in the images, and to be honest, there is very little that I am missing while playing on low. Thanks for the post Mr Arabian

i use to think with no shadow is cheating

but now using shadow to see ppl round corners could also be...

Agree with Flipya54, I payed for my current top end system so that I can have all the eyecandy turned up, I'm not turning it backdown just for 5 extra points per round.

I need my 6X anti aliasing for the smooth object edges. Makes a huge difference. No AA is just sad..

I also got a geforce 6600 256mb

average fps on medium settings is 30-40 overclocked =(, this makes me a sad panda....

As long as there is no stuttering, 30-40 is just fine with me.

Ever since I got a new larger HDD i have had stuttering.....i cloend the old hdd to new one so I dont know if thats the problem........maybe is my sound taking too much resources ?
