Man, Duke Nukem was awesome. Jetpacks, pipe bombs, and HOLOGRAMS all set in a semi-real world? That was some awesome and sneaky deathmatch play!

Heh, anyone remember Rise of the Triad? First game to have tons of blood and gore, dual pistols, and also magical shrooms and other weird effects?

Old games? I played "Commander Keen" series on PC... THAT was old.

The first game I played was called "Ghost House". It was all text and the sound effects came from a tape player attached to the computer. My awesome computer with 4K of ram and booted its OS from 5 1/4 floppys. Yeah... thats old...DOS baby. Then I went outside to feed my pet teradactyl.

I loved duke nukem. I built my house and part of my street in the editor. Then I filled it full of weapons and killed my friends in it over dialup =)

Wolfenstein was my 1st PC game. Duke was awesome - "I'm here to kick ass & chew buublegum, and I'm all out of gum" - lol classic.

manic miner
Jetpac
hungry horace
syndicate (the first game i managed to get runnin on a network)
etc etc etc .....


duke was superb and chocked full of lovely fps death match tools weve never seen since... rember the freeze gun and the shrinker... hours of fun trying to stamp on your friends.

btw to get all geeky on this subject the bubblegum line is actually from a film called 'they live' which is a top movie about aliens you can only see if you wear sunglasses :) i love that film its a classic....

my first PC games where like

- pac man
- pit fall
- arakaniod

then the revolution came

- wolfenstein 3D!!!!!
at that point, I knew my desteny was FPS games
then
- DOOM , graphics where stunning !! and you didn't even need a dam videocard, everybody played the game with onboard videochip, lol.
- duke nukem came.

then I remember the very first quake , this was the first real 3D shooter actualy, graphics where again stunning !!

But then came games like

Half life !! the dam gaming comunity was like OMFG , this game is awsome, unseen graphics, gameplay, the enemy's even had some sort of AI

and then came counter strike (half life engine), my first online gaming there, over the dam telephone line getting a broken connection every dam 15min etc.. but is was fun.

the game that realy made me an adict on online games was actualy a less known one, came out about 5 years ago, the single player sucked but the multiplayer rocked, you needed to destroy each others base, also tanks and choppers there, and you actualy neede to destroy there buildings, very cool.

after that my main game was BF1942, UT, ....


I actualy remember, my brother and I sitting in front of the PC , starting up a new game, and we where stunned by the fact there where voices in the game, don't know the game by name anymore, but it went like, "you are going to die now" and stuff like that, we where only used to heer some beeps true the pc speaker.

times have realy changed, and games have changed much more, but then again, first games where on casette, where about 50Kb and loading time took longer then BF2

the most awsome part in duke nukem was the fact you could give money to the dansers and they showed some ..... or you could just shoot them to pieces offcourse (in those days there wasn't something like 16+ or 18+)
