    Question about SF download

I went ahead and ordered/downloaded BF2:SF. Now I am thinking this was a mistake.

Does anyone one know if you can burn it on CD/DVD? What if I have to reformat? I have done searches and can't find this info anywhere.

    Re: Question about SF download

The only drawback to the download is that if your system goes down you'll have to download the 1GB installation again whereas the person with the DVD can just put their disc in and install from there. You will always be able to download the game, anytime, anywhere as long as you can log in to your ea downloader account. Instead of a CD Key, you have a username and password. OTOH if the CD owner's disc gets damaged, they're screwed.

If you want to make a DVD backup (its a 1.23 GB file) your best bet is to backup the entire EA Downloader directory. This is located by default in your program files directory - typically:

    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\

The actual game files are two folders down in .\<username>\cache\

I think that once you buy the download it will be like in your account so incase you format, just go back to your online account and download it over. :)

If its anything like steam (wouldnt know havent got the bf2 one) then you can get it on any comp any time so long as no more then 1 copy is running. Losing a HD wouldnt make you lose out of the game.

Good question, I have seen stuff like that happen before on other games. That would be funny if you could.

I tried it LOL...and guess what...for a second I thought it worked. In my EA window, there was the INSTALL NOW button...so I'm like OMG!!!! I click it, but then there is an error heh.
