Jets and Special Forces

I hear people endlessly gushing about how great SF will be because "there won't be any [insert favourite explitive here] planes!"

While this does help cut down on the 'argh, stupid AA' factor, I ask this of the community:

Where has anyone officially said there are not any jets in the expansion? Because I've never seen it. I've never seen a list of anything they're leaving out, only things they're putting in (like a forklift truck, oh wonderful, that'll be really useful).

So have EA/Dice really said they're cutting them out, or have people just perpetuated an urban myth amongst themselves based on hearsay and wishful thinking?

If I'm just blind or stupid or something, please post a link to the pertinant information. :)

click the stickied post. in there, there's a link on EA UK where the developer said there will be NO jets in any of the 8 new maps because of the size of the maps.

The newly translated interview states that the planes will not be in, due to the size and structure of the maps.

Since they aren't including jets due to the map size, I'm assuming that the maps are going to be small? Like 32 or 16-slot version maps? That's sucks. A bit.

more glory to the anti-tank guy :) should be a piece of cake, actually... urban maps... + grappling hook. So, you just grapple yourself to a rooftop, and then safely kill the tank from there. It can't even raise its cannon that high.

too bad those tanks can be taken out by C4, choppers, AT, land mines and TOWs huh? whereas the jet can only be taken out by another jet....and trees.
