>FU< presents...The Mission

Allo gents. Not sure if anybody remembers but a while ago i was on here with a different name (-[a2a]-Longshot) and i hooked up some clans with some roster intro movies. Well, i have returned! and come bearing the fruits of my labors. "The Mission" A cinematic short film made by my clan, Fear Us, directed by me and edited by myself and my design team. I hope you all enjoy it! peace'

yup, i had an awful experience with the brightness, i accidentally fooled with an IUVCR setting and all i could try to do was balence it out with post effects. Names i can't really control, but i also regret forgetting to hit alt to make the flags dissapear in a few scenes, but i don't think it takes away from the flick in any big way. My clan will have it up in their ftp soon, i know filefront sucks. thanks for any input and once again, hope u all enjoy.

Re: >FU< presents...The Mission

This movie was done all without battlerecorder filmed in first person view (although you cant see it in some instances). Its much more challenging to do but it did spark some ideas for me..

But why was it so bright? was it frapped or dv cammed? i saw another one like this awhile ago..

lol at the derka derka and the random coordinates, this movie had alot of room for expansion to be better with battlerecorder, but i see you choose an alternate way to tell the story

Here is a quick link for the flick, it was a blast to make and LS did a great job putting it together. I will just have to teach him how to encode better for the next one

Re: >FU< presents...The Mission

Im gonna download now from your site, and now for my standard Battlelauncher plug : Battlelauncher gets rid of Nametags and flags etc.

Ok I just watched it.
Good use of music, reasonable 'story' BUT the screen kept changing size, there were grey bars on the side of the video and you could constantly see the HUD which was extremely disgusting, you just CANT do this it looks absolutely horrific, why was it so bright?
Otherwise it was alright I suppose but the video quality was...just bad, also it looks like you fiddled with some effects just for the sake of it. Of all the movies I've seen this is absolutley the worst video quality, I just cant understand how it came out like that? What programs etc. do you use?

i actually liked it, at first i was kinda iffy cause of the ingame frapage but it looked cool w/ the effects you used. i loved the tv sorta look when the bh blew up the tank, looked so real. it was wierd, good job though. what effect did u use for that?

Re: >FU< presents...The Mission

I'll try to answer all the questions...first, it wasn't fraps. I used a Video Capture card and a program called IUVCR to record. That was also responsbile for the brightness problems that begin about halfway through.

And yes, i know it was pretty bad quality. This was mainly because of the slowness of the demo computer, i had to go through some massive compression stuff just to get it made. Also, the reason for the change in the frame size was because none of this was made with Battlerecorder. It was all first-person footage, so i had to crop the image to not include my weapon. Also contributing to the poor quality was the fact that i just don't run the game with high settings because of my slow computer. ''

I used Adobe Premiere 6.0 to edit and WMM to compress.

If you were dissapointed by the picture quality, i hope you can look past it and enjoy the movie for the originality of the shots and music, because that's where my focus was on making it. Again, thanks for any input and for all the downloaders.

http://www.battlelauncher.com/
its a program that allow you to set camera movements etc kinda like Fraps but then you can render out the demo with:
1. NO Nametags
2. NO Hud
3. NO Weapons
4. Proper brightness
5. Constant FPS regardless of Comp speed
6. All in High GFX

You can render it in High GFX with no slowdown because of the way it works. It doesnt capture the movie in realtime rather it takes the time to render each frame and saves each frame into an avi file. The demo plays back at 2-4fps in super slow motion but the final video then plays at 30fps with no slowdown.

Only thing is that it requires a demo file (replay) and Im guessing that the reason you used the method you did was because you cannot get a demo. For a tutorial on how to use Battlelauncher visit:

I appreciate that, if we get around to making a sequel ill use it, i wish i had it before, lol. But once again...it wasn't fraps. As a capture card owner i despise fraps, lol.

Heh, i knew it
But like neo said.. try battlelauncher. You will get much better quality, and the ability to fly around to get alot more camera angles than what you were able to get in 1st person
