Battlefield 2 crashing

I have a problem with bf2 crashing.
I've had the game for a month now and lately it is ****ing me off because my scores won't record because the game just locks up, the sound blurs and the screen is stuck.

I have a geforce 6600 pro
I have a gig of ram
I know my power supply is good (550 watts)
My soundcard is okay(audigy sound blaster)

Is it an in game problem or computer problem?
and how can I get this to stop crashing

Have you tried updating all of your drivesr (mobo, sound, graphics, etc)?

What about routine things like defragment, disk cleanup, anti-virus scan, anti-spyware scan, registry cleaning, etc?

Updating PunkBuster has recently been fixing a lot of crashing and lockups.
