They always come in low and straight on, ignore the bullets, just aim and shoot!

NEVER! shoot a plane passing you by from the side, or from the behind. Head on is fun!

My god I love the anti tank class, mid-range shooting with pistol, close-range with the shotgun and long range with the rocket.....

Opinions?

my opinion is, when u shoot enemies with rocket at long range, u are exposing urself and along with ur poor teammates around u. after u have killed an enemy, wait and see how the nades will be flying to you like raining.

If a pilot can get hit my AT rocket you would do your team a favor by leaving him alive, since hes taking up a jet that another better pilot can't get his hand on.
OR you can just as well wait for him to crash into the next mountain.

If a missile, with auto tracking, cant hit a jet, what are your chances with AT?

It's the auto tracking that cause the miss. I trust myself and the abilty to move my mouse correctly over the In Game "guided" weapons systems.

That being said I have never shot down a plane moving at full tilt with an AT rocket. Pretty impressive.

Actually the unguided missles on DC were very effective against jets and choppers as they had no warning signal so they couldn't dodge it and people could hit choppers from any distance with them stingers just by knowing how far forward they had to shoot and knowing the distances perfectly.

I once killed two planes that we swooping down to attack me with my tank gun in one game, but as has already been said cirumstance just conspired to my favour and then I took advantage of it. No real skill, nor any way of reliably repeating it. Then again, I also killed a helo once with the basic USMC engineer shotgun. It was kind of weird really... it didnt show up as saying the shotgun that did it, but that was all I fired at the helo, and I got the kill for the pilot and the co pilot, so whatever.

Anyway, basically if the oppurtunity presents itself then shoot head on at a plane, and sometimes it works, but this is hardly a tactic that you can use most of the time.
