I downloaded pbsetup.exe in the pb folder..When i run it says since this is the first time running the application it must be configured..So it starts downloading a global config file, but I get an error that says failed to conncet to some ip :Connection refused

    Any suggestions.

PBSETUP.exe shouldn't be located in your PB folder for each game it automatically finds the the PB folder of BF2 based on the registry entry InstallDir.

Just download it e.g. to a folder on desktop and run it from there.

The old pbweb.exe was supposed to be situated in the PB folder, so you would have to have one for each game. PBsetup just one that does it for all PB enabled games.

If you are in doubt, then read the instructions given at EvenBalance on their util pbsetup.exe:

PB support told me to make it's own folder under program files and to run it from there because I was having PB problems too.

Yea but in first post you said:

that sounds like the game PB folder as they specifically have one each.

Did you verify the router settings and windows firewall settings.

BF2 installation put and entry in the Windows Firewall so BF2 works properly, try checking if it is still there.

Network Connections -> LAN adapter -> Right-click and Properties -> Advanced -> Settings button -> Exceptions tab. In there should be a BF2 entry.
