    Re: Noob Toobers

I have respect for the guy that killed me from two blocks away with the GP30 when i tried to snipe him on Stroke in Hamland, i have no trouble with that, i never saw it coming.

Its the monkeys that jump out from holes of the wall and put one on your feet, only to start prone jumping and crap like that when they miss. But thats BF2 for you, jackasses all around.

      Re: Noob Toobers

In 12 vs 12 clan matches I have seen 10 out of 12 on the other team bunny hop around with noob tubes. In public servers it's fortunately still a bit different. It's still comical though how players can hop around like a duracell bunny. How hard can it be to implement some fatigue? Another thing that would work is to stop ppl from firing when they are jumping.

I find that the tube is good for roof-top defense. Especially when multiple ground pounders are running from different directions in at you. I usually tag the ones further out with the rifle, and then use the 203 on the ones directly below as they are traversing faster than I can draw a bead on them.

Wargimp provides this explanation: The spinning motion of the grenade generates a strong centrifugal force that pushes the weighted pins outward. When they move far enough out, the pins release the fuze mechanism, and it springs forward toward the nose of the grenade. When the grenade hits the ground, the nose plate pushes in, driving the firing pin against the percussion cap. The cap explodes, igniting the detonator explosive, which ignites the main explosive. hmmmmm

By-the-way, people were not just complaining about the in-close abuse of said weapon but also bashing just about anyone who would use such a weapon in BF2.

You guys are just mad you get owned by a certain thing and you can't control it. It is a legit tactic... note it is in the game. And stop comparing this game to real life!! Go join the army!

203ing form a distance takes skill sure but close up is just plain lame.

I've used these on Sharqi Peninsula to take out snipers that were on the roof of the TV Station -- you wouldn't believe how far away you can shoot this weapon [I fired the M203 when I was about 1/2 way between TV Station and the Construction Site]. Plus this weapon is also good against attack & transport choppers.

                        Re: Noob Toobers

Eh, I use the M203 as if it was my primary weapon. Because, heck, it's effective.

And, I never kill myself with it because. Well, I know the blast radius on the darn thing. But, in defense of mah' favorite classification in this game. Our Ak-47s, M-16s, and Ak-101s are less accurate than G36Cs, M4s, and past 100m, pistols. So, what else do you expect us to use?

The G3? Yeah. Tis' fun somtimes. But, you run the risk of just having an SF guy turn around in your general direction from over 100m and hit you with every shot on automatic, or a support gunner dive two inches in front of you and riddle you. So, it makes more sense to keep your m203, or Gp-30, handy.

I can understand everyone's frustration. We truely have a dominating weapon. But, look at the other classes. AT has a sniper rifle, Snipers have a Sniper rifle, Spec Ops have an Automatic Sniper Rifle, Support has CQB on lock. Engineer has a shotgun that will drop you with a headshot from 25-50m! Yet, you all have the nerve to complain about our 203? Which we actually have to line up to use. Or at least dodge our own blast in order to log an effective kill?

I don't know about the rest of mah' assualt brethern. But, I'm not putting my M203 down until the G3 does the same damage as the M24, and is as accurate as the SVD. (Up the damage on the SVD as well...) Until then. Get some m203, we serve it up hot and fresh daily?... :P

All I want to add is -- Assault + Support combinations are going to be lethal come Special Forces time. One of the things announced was that you won't be able to equip both a gas mask and night vision simultaneously. So either you go ridiculously blind when you're flashed [worse if you have nightvision on] and get noob toobed ... or get hit with tear gas and then noob tubed =)

                            Re: Noob Toobers

The instant-kill factor of the t00b makes it indispensible. Quite a few times I've saved my mates from being C4ed because I t00bed the spec ops guy that was dropping C4 on his tank. If I had hit him with a normal gun he (he was about 25m away) he would have pressed the trigger early, killing himself but making sure he made the tank blow up too. With the t00b he has no time to react.

Then there's the cluster of people huddled around a medic. One nade and they're all gone.

Also seeing someone running right next to a wall (or that piece of sheetrock at the construction site in Sharqi ). With the way my ping fluctuates its almost impossible to consistantly hit sprinting targets running perpendicular to me. With the t00b they're gone. Flag defended, no mess.

I've also seen PKMers sitting in the middle of the street hosing down my teammates as soon as they stop to shoot. With the fire-and-forget t00bnade I don't need to even stay in the line of fire to get the job done, and now the enemy offensive threat is gone.

Ever seen one of your flags going down, but the only thing you could see was the enemy's gun sticking out near the wall? Rather than go over and shake his hand, just lob a nade and be done with it.

People rushing down stairs? Shoot one near the wall.

Bunnyhopping DAO-12er? The t00b is marvelous for hunting wabbits.

All in all, I love the launcher. I agree that the bunnyhopping t00bers are cheap, which is why I never use it as a CQC weapon and when my nade is gone and there are enemies left I instantly switch to my rifle, but don't let their lame tactics deter you from the sheer offensive power of the grenade launcher. Look at it this way - the Assault's job is to cap flags and take out infantry FAST, and what weapon helps do this better than the nade launcher? The only time I ever end up with a t00bicide is when I lag (you know the drill, run around a corner, launch a grenade down the hall only to rubberband and actually have the nade shoot right into the wall in front of you) or if I get completely surprised by someone popping out right in front of me (usually when I get spooked I accidentally hit the fire button :p ).

noob toobing in the sense of blowing people up when they are 1 meter away is lame! But using it to kill people far away is totally ok...
