Need Help Settin Controls For Joystick.

I have recently just bought a Logitech Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick for my BF2 game. I am very good with keyboard but i just wanted to see if i can get better at flying with a joystick and i am having problems setting up the joystick. I am not quite sure of which buttons to be what. I already set up the throttle but i dont know how to set up the rest for best comfort. So if anyone out there has the same joystick as mine or if yo have something similar to mine please give me some tips on setting up my joystick.

I dont have your particular joystick, but my saitek is simple to calibrate. Just head into the airplane control options, then click each control scheme (e.g. pitch etc...) and push on your joystick as you would like them. So for instance if you want your pitch to go up when you pull the joystick back, click on pitch, then pull back on your joystick to its most extreme postition. BF2 should recognise the joystick, and input the control scheme accordingly.

It should work, unless you're like me and BF2 won't let you bind anything to your joystick......not even manually!

I think the thread starter wanted advice on what buttons are best to use for what functions, rather than how to assign the controls...

Speaking of controls, can someone please post their controls.con so that i can copy and paste that for my EXTREME 3D PRO joystick I'm borrowing from my brother? I'd greatly appreciate that. Thanks for having mercy on this noob.

Its up to you really. Find something you like. Usually Primary Fire is the trigger, secondary is near your thumb, cycle is near the secondary, etc, etc.

I tried joystic config but throttle was messed up it didnt recognise it. So am keyboard flying but I did not find the way to launch air to ground missiles on the right time. So i dont hit anything am shooting "blind" hope to get a target. Any tips?
