I just switched from x64 back to windows xp since i bought a x-fi card and they don't have drivers yet. I installed BF2 and the latest (v1.3) patch just fine. I loaded up the game and it was taking forever pulling up my account so i CTRL+ALT+DEL'd and closed the game from there. I went to load BF2 again and it would bring up the first BF2 screen (Where it checks for the CD) then that would go away and nothing would happen. If i pull up task manager, sure enough BF2 is there in processes and taking up 100% of my CPU usage, but the game screen won't come up. I reinstalled bf2 and it does the same thing. I updated to the lastest ATI drivers, but that didn't help either.
Here are my comp specs:
AMD Athalon 3700+
2 x 1gig DDR 3200 Ram
2 x Seagate 250gig HDD
ATI Radeon 9800 xt
Soundblaster x-fi Fatal1ty
Windows XP Pro w/ SP2
Any suggestions? Thanks!
