Unlocks in SF?

I know basically nothing about BF2:SF and just wonder if you guys can tell me the unlocks for it? or if there are any similar features...

thats a interesting point actusally. I mean do you login using ur bf2 account? Or is it a entirely new account you setup with new default weapons and unlockable weapons when you go up ranks as in bf2?

Ok, whats the history like with Battlefield? Was there actually expansion packs or was it all mods...?

What about other FPS games, is BF2 the first with unlocks and expansion pack?

SF is an expanstion pack made by EA. goddamn, i wish we can use our old accounts instead of creating new ones, coz it will be a pain in the ass

I think even global points will reset, just because I say so. Seriously I think it would be for the better.

What kind fo weapon would there actually be for the SF forces to unlock. They aren't exactly equipped with crappy guns to start with...

well maybe sum high-tech new awsome weapon that the US military is keeping a secret about... like the aurora bomber, its so secret, that even discovery channel put it on the US bomber series

actually..... EA tranfers the info from your account on to SF, like my minimod,when i change shot gun to M16 and the Soldier in the BFHQ is gone

For thosoe wondering what the **** that is it's basicly a laser gun capable of incapacitating a foe without permanent harm (if you're not too close)

Good question. I presonally was assuming that the stats would be updated on SF ranked servers and work towards SOME of the BF2 stats.

For example, stats that aren't game specific like Global score would be added to regardless of what game you play. Other stats like new medals, badges and maybe even KDR and SPM may be seperated so you can look at them independantly.

Remember, this is an EXPANSION PACK not a new game. It really would make no sense for them to not add to your BF2 global score with these extras, since from THEIR perspective they WANT people to buy it and they know that people care about their BF2 rank, and want to improve it. All MMORPG expansion packs continue to add to your character from the previous incarnations....this won't be any different

It is really in the way they database the information, will they seperate it so we can look at it independanly, or just meld it....who knows

but if u think bout it and they add new ranks(say officer ranks) and they tie new unlocks to these new ranks it would take forever to obtain these new ranks as 2nd LT. is 200,000 now. unless they made u start a new account.

Well, they may add new SF specific ranks, and a SP specific "global score", but I doubt it.

It is all about money, they want people to buy this game and MANY of the people who have played hundreds of hours to get their rank up would be LESS likley to buy a game that makes them reset everything.

I would bet the farm that rank and global score WILL transfer to the EXPANSION PACK and they MAY add some new EXTRA awards to SF.

The are doing what MMORPG's do, which is get people to keep buying expansions to expand THEIR PERSONAL CHARACTER

U must have seen wrong because that gun isnt in the game...
I think you saw G36E, MG36 or G36K.
