DAO vs. G3

I just got First Sergeant and i was wondering which unlock i should get. I have the choice of either the DAO-12 or the G3. I've been kind'v leading toward the G3 but not quite sure. People with both unlocks i need your help of which is best, not which is a better upgrade from the kits base weapon, but which is better from each other. (if you know what i mean) I probably wont get another rank and upgrade while playing BF2 so this unlock is important. Thanks.

G3, also it helps when your using the MP5 if you have had alot of practise with it, because the lazy bastards at dice couldn't be bothered to make 2 different iron sights.

I was surprised at how powerful the DAO is. In CQB its unmatched.

It all depends on which kit you use more and what kind of fighter you are. If you like getting up close, the DAO... if you like to pluck away from afar, get the G3 and if you must go AT, use the ERYX/SRAW to take out infantry. Both weapons are good if you learn to use them.

The DAO is possibly the biggest upgrade for a kit overall. Those submachines guys BLOW, but the DAO is a maneater.

The G3 is a beast for damage and it's accuracy is better than people think, however it comes with trade offs. You lose your 'nade launcher and the short clip couples with it's fast rate of fire to give you a whole lotta "click". Still, I like my G3 too. You just have to remember to stick with very short tight bursts and to reload often.

In your case, I would recomend the DAO, tho. More upgrade, no trade off.

DAO-12 is essential if you intend to play anti-tank. If you rarely play anti-tank, choose the G3.

I personnaly would say you can't get away with burst, uses to much ammo, i always seem to run out with the G3, i can normally kill about 3-4 people with a mag if i ahve it on single shot.

I know what you mean. I'm just not a semi-auto sorta guy.

It's only lately that I've been able to up my average kills per clip to 'round 3 with burst fire. My typical burst is 3 to 5 shots.
The bad news is, yes, you run outta ammo quick. The good news is that if you land 3 shots, your target is DEAD.

Took a lot of getting used to, but since my G3 was my first unlock I've had lots of time ta practice.

I'm happy with the G3, but sucks that we only get 4 magazines with it, they run out farking quick.
Don't see why the Assault kit with the grenade launcher should be able to carry 2 extra magazines and all those grenades, just discrimination :P

Yeah even the pistol ahs 7 mags, when are you going to use 7 mags for a pistol, when i was getting the pistol badge i only used about 4.

the G3, was my 2nd unlock, but now that I got the dao, I wish I had got it sooner, it simply rocks. choose dao if you play AT!

Using the DAO is like admitting you can't shoot or move worth a sh*t. Come to think of it, using the SRAW to kill infantry at range is pretty weak too.
Be a man, run as assault. G3 on single shot is a great weapon, just takes a little skill.

hm why even use a rifle then.. just go pistol if your so uber.

btw, dao kicks ass with 96 damage point blank heh.

although if you play alot of wake, the G3 owns.

If you like to play assault with the grenade launcher then I would pick the DAO hands down. But, if you don't really like the GL and find yourself rifled up as assault most of the time the G3 is REALLY sweet for close range combat
